All that being said, pretty safe to say from here on out neutrals will be firmly against Madrid.

I didnt even know that he was a Leverkusen fan. But that doesnt take anything away from my comment. I actually do know 2 Leverkusen fans in person (and yes, that is pretty much in Germany) and I guess not one of them would have made such a stupid comment regarding this game.

I think you are under-estimating the Real hate in general. I think most people were rooting against Real since August...

I don't have to be neutral for shit, I don't like Bayern Munich, never have, so seeing them lose, even by shifty means makes me laugh. Go post on a Bayern forum if you want love for Bayern, but don't expect that shit from me.

    Fuck Bayern Munich.

Please do, it's been a while since I've seen them.

Now I wish I could find the videos of RBNY beating Bayern.

    Been about 12-13 years now

Just in general, German and American sports culture is VASTLY different. If you see something that seems like it would be inappropriate, it probably isn't here. I get why you find it agitating for sure, and Ed and many others do the same thing when their team plays mine. Just kind of a part of this community. It is rarely, rarely malicious.

Oh, I think half of this little group hates Madrid. But others definitely don't. But neutrally, it's hard to like them now. I dislike Madrid only slightly more than I dislike Bayern. I wanted penalties because I am selfish and wanted Madrid exhausted and mentally taxed for El Clasico.

I'm going into a spin class. Hopefully this doesn't combust by the time I come back. But please. This doesn't have to go any further.

You dont have to be neutral at all, thats for sure. All I wanted was for all people to show some common sense. But I guess you are not that kind of guy.

I dont need to comment on this. If this is all a United fan can come up with, then it tells more about United than about Bayern.

If you want to see the footage, just go to Youtube. I guess you will find everything you need there. But the past is just the past. The present says United is just some mediocre team playing in the Europa League and even struggeling against Anderlecht...

Now you want to watch some random footage about a pre-season friendly against a manufactured US team??? Thats all you have??? Go ahead then...

I'll say it again, I don't care for Bayern Munich, watching them lose, no matter the means, is something I like.

    What about common sense?

And right now, Bayern is in the same place as United, not competing for the CL this season, so it doesn't matter where they are right now.

Right. Bayern play RBNY every year, I forgot, let me go find clips from the other 20 times they've played.

I wish I was the reason Bayern lost today, but I'm not, and I'm done with you.

I know that American sports culture is vastly different from the one in Europe, for sure I know. I remember arguing about ticket prices some years ago and barely no one of you Americans could understand what a European football club means to the community.

And that is exactly what I meant. People like you, who are in no way liking Bayern just realized that they got robbed in this game. And they commented accordingly. And then take a comment like "lol Bayern". Its clear that there is no common sense about it, just general hate against the club. Which is totally fine, just like "Fuck you" is a totally fine answer to such comments.

Can we please, please have enough of you trying to police what is basically harmless banter in a friendly forum that's full of people who have been doing this with each other for 5+ years?

As Ed said, go to a Bayern forum if you want a Bayern fan fest. Anyone can admit the ref screwed up, but it's 110% Ed's right to laugh at Bayern. Why should you give a shit?

If you can't handle the state of this thread, which is quite tame in its nature, I suggest you take your soccer conversation to other corners of the internet.

  11. Went to lids today to get a Mariners hat, which they didn't have haha, but as I was looking through the baseball section I spotted a completely random Tottenham hat. Right in the middle of their 5 rows of Yankees hats. Snagged it. Guy at the counter didn't know what team it was and said they randomly received one in a recent shipment.

    It's a good day.

Sorry but I think this is really some sort of "lost in translation". I can absolutely take the banter, but I will react accordingly. And that reaction might include the phrase "fuck you", which is in no way a not appropiate phase in Europe (and we are talking about a tournament in Europe, remember?).

Ed has every right to laugh about Bayern, just like I have every right to comment on it accordingly...

That's awesome, love random finds like that, I found an RBNY car sticker at a Toys 'R Us two years ago

  14. Labeling him as an Arsenal fan was more offensive than the fuck you imo

In what world is responding the way you did to Ed justified or called for? Especially with how aggressive it was. Ed is allowed to make that comment all day. You're not allowed to respond with a volatile and personal insult.

Now I really am intrigued. Did you watch the CL final 1999 in person. Because I did and it still stings. Props to you if you did too.

tbf I think "fuck you" is much, harsher I guess is the word, for you Americans. It's basically a greeting for me :crylaugh:

As I said this might be a case of different cultures. But for me this comment was made for that answer. I apologize if it was too harsh for an American. Even more so for a RB fan.

Also, if I had a dollar every time I wanted to go after Ed for the shit he says, I'd be a rich man after more than 7 years of being here.

Look at all the shit Garret gets for Barcelona's crap, I know I give him more than his fair share.

J.C. has stuck around despite endless amounts of shit given to him over Liverpool stuff. He in turn fires it back when United are poor, or do something stupid.

Alex and Tyler have gone through years and years of our typical Spurs comments.

I get it was in the heat of the moment, but it was rude to come at anyone like that, especially when you haven't done the work to build any sort of rapport.

Also, the pretentious European thing isn't doing you any favors around here.

I was just going over in my head trying to think back to when I first started posting in this thread. I think it much have been the 09/10 season when we had the black chevrons on out home kit. At least that's as far back as I can remember. When we were a one man team with Rooney scoring about 30 headers from Valencia crosses.

    It's been a wild ride.
