Yes emily haines forever. i have like 3 or 4 songs that are almost done sitting on the computer i could use. i'll probably just wrap up the vocals and send one in tonight. i havent decided which one to finish yet.

 

I was planning on doing my cover yesterday night (I usually finish them in a few hours) but something came up last minute and I doubt I'll have time to do it today. Just wanted to let Brad know. I'm really bummed, this was the comp I wanted to contribute to the most in a good while and I prob should've started sooner but life is hard to work around

I'm not gonna get a passable cover in tonight. I haven't been able to dedicate enough time to this project this month because I've been going through the hoops required to close on a house and I've had a pretty demanding few weeks from Grad School. I'm the eternal loser of the Chorus.fm cover group.

 

Alright I finally got my c-port adapter today, if I don't get this done within the next 45 minutes I'm sorry I gotta go to bed haha. I'll for sure do the next one tho. I'm so excited about my new guitar.

 

I spent a lot of time on mine, but have about 2 hours left of my night and at least 6 hours left of work, so I guess I'm out. Looking forward to a T. Swift comp or the next random one, because this'll be finished soon, just not in time for this comp. Oh well.

10. @vidiviciveni - Another great one from you on here! I love the little melody change you did on the "oo-oo" part in the pre-chorus. Also, there needs to be more "What the fuck?"s in songs, ha.
11. @Things So Impossible - Always love having you on these things. It's really cool hearing this song more stripped down and without all the layering and everything that's on the original. Beautiful cover.

13. @TedSchmosby - As far as I'm concerned, we can never have enough Taylor Swift on a compilation. Glad we got 2! Your cover of "Love Story" is grrrreat!

15. @Jdaniels - This was always one of my favorite Michelle Branch songs. I listened to this song in high school all the time. You did it justice!
16. @JakeRabin - I love this song. I love this cover. I'd even so as far to say that it's.... solid as concrete! Haha, but really, awesome rockin' cover of "Zombie."
17. @therookielot - I really need to listen to more LDR. It was not as weird as the last second of the song suggests, haha. (Side note: When I said "LDR" it made me think that should actually mean "Lord of Da Rings." Haha I'm glad that my coffee has kicked in!)
18. @thewmaynes - This is one of my favorite CRJ songs! Glad to see it getting some love. It's such an underrated song. Actually, her whole discography is totally underrated. Great cover, dude!
19. @xkhiemster - Writing a 7 minute medley is no easy task! Good job! I listened to the original version that you sent me and it definitely sounds better with guitar rather than just the bass. Solid as concrete!
20. Sooooo I was going to do "2 Become 1" by The Spice Girls. I had all the music recorded and everything, and my plan was going to be to spend the day yesterday recording vocals for it. But that apparently did not happen... My birthday was on Saturday, so my friends took me out to drink and in the morning, my voice was totally shot and I sounded like a poo fart. Late lastnight, I was feeling bummed that this was going to be the first compilation I'd miss out on, but then I remembered one of my many party tricks is that I can play "My Heart Will Go On" on my ukulele. What's funny is that that is literally the only song I know how to play on it, haha. I figured out how to play it the day I got my uke, and after I learned that song I told myself that I couldn't possibly learn anything better than that. I'll probably still record my Spice Girls cover and post it in here when it's done, cuz I think you will like it! xoxo

I'm gonna be honest, the song I submitted is a few years old that I tweaked a bit. I didnt have time to do a new version of it because I got way ahead of myself. I bought a new macbook, new guitar, new amp that I wanted to showoff, but I didn't even have the necessary equipment to record until Amazon delivered it yesterday. By the time I got it, I had to leave for Easter Dinner.

I really hope to do a new version of this song at some point though.

 

@alexmelton - Hearing this makes me super sad I couldn't get to my Chvrches cover. Love the original and this was a really cool rendition of it. Vocals were on point!

redwing91007 - Really didn't get to spend as much time on this as I wanted and ended up doing the vocals in one take. Pretty happy with how the instrumentals came out. I've gotten much better at mixing/mastering over the last few months, I obviously have a LONG way to go but I'm pleased with my progress. Criticism is always welcome.

@Damien Davies - Only heard this song once or twice when I was shopping so I can't say much about it compares to the original haha. I like the guitar work on it a lot.

@vidiviciveni - Holy nostalgia. I really like your voice. This basically sounded like a great live rendition of this song, good stuff.

@Jose - YES! Guitar is dead on, got that tone nailed down. Curious to know what effects you used to create the atmospheric vibes.

@manoverboard365 - Great vocals, check. Great instrumental vibes, check.

@ricklightning - Never heard this song or anything by Angel Olsen for that matter. Based on this, I'll be checking it out!

@thesoftskeleton - One of the rare piano gems that shows up on the comps, great job!

@Jdaniels - Haven't heard this song in a hot minute. Good fresh take on it.
