Heads up, most Central Americans I know prefer Latinx over Hispanic.

 

Latinx is anglo-phonetic appropriation. Latine is more suitable.

 

I was under the impression that Latinx was a replacement for Latino/Latina, no? Though it's probably more appropriate here anyway because it really doesn't matter to the old whites if someone speaks Spanish or not, it just matters that their skin looks brown and they don't look "Murican" in their eyes.

It is, but yeah you nailed it, a lot of "Hispanics" I know prefer to take Latinx over Hispanic just for that distinction. More unifying and all that.
