    Rams take Wentz

Cleveland trades #2 to Eagles for #8, 2017 #1, Sam Bradford.

    Eagles take Goff.

    sounds good to me!

Can teams actually trade players they just signed in FA? For some reason I thought that basically doesn't/can't happen

Wasn't even aware Wentz was getting mocked so high, if this move fails the franchise is going to look like a massive joke in their billion dollar stadium

    It already is, buddy.

Yep. Most teams wont because of the signing bonus and dead cap money involved.

But Bradford's deal was structured so his signing bonus isnt due until after the draft, if I remember. So, the Eagles can trade him....they take the cap hit this year, but they get the money back next year cause they didnt actually spend it. Kind of ingenious if they can convince another team to take Bradford.
Ha. Itd be hilarious if we get a 2nd year of those rumors. Sam Bradford, the perpetual trade chip.

Rams just reverse karma'd themselves from the RGIII trade. lololol

I hope they take Wentz. Browns have leverage, Goff or Ramsey. Love their position now.

Browns trade Joe Thomas take Tunsil #2.

Agreed. Like I said, the Browns are the real winners here. They have their choice of a trade, the best player in the draft, or the best QB in the draft.

Was actually thinking they'd take him anway since they lost Schwartz. Play him at RT til Thomas leaves.

Chargers too. Real chance they get Tunsil now, since the QB situation is laid out. Gotta be like a 90+% chance Goff goes #2.

Whats the highest an FCS player has been selected in the draft?

All the legitimate Browns talk I've heard is Goff or Ramsey. I don't think they're looking at OL as a priority.

Nah, Chargers now draft Tunsil instead of Ramsey. They lost today, they just don't know it. Same with the Browns not realizing they won.

Is there any recent examples of this actually happening? Seems like something that would build a lot of ill will, since said players could have signed somewhere else more preferable than where they got traded.

    Steve McNair at #3 maybe?

That would probably be it. I didn't realize he was drafted so high.

  19. Still better than the RG3 trade unless the pick is a complete bust. We received 2 future firsts and a current for that one.

Not that I can think of. Happens fairly regularly with guys who are franchised tagged/RFA tendered, but, not with guys signed via free agency. But thats because its not like the NBA/MLB/etc where the salary just moves. It's like lighting money on fire if the player was given a signing bonus.

The bradford thing, the way the contract was structured, tells me he knew this was possible. He wanted his base salaries guaranteed to protect himself, but didnt care what team he was playing for, as long as he gets paid. He could of course veto any trade by saying he'll retire or signalling he doesnt want to play there.

Actually its an extra 2 3rds tacked on top of what the Redskins gave up, since current 2nds are considered future 1sts. (Honestly, I think most teams would rather have a 2nd rounder now than a 1st rounder in 2018...).

The major difference is the Titans dropping to #15. Thus the need for extra picks. Though I think the Skins gave up a 4th as well, and so that 3rd + getting a 4th/6th back washes those out

Titans have plenty to work with if they want to trade back up in the first round.

I think the Browns are cognizant and happy with it. haha

Hue has been all over Goff and it seems like Wentz will be the pick at #1.

If the Eagles don't trade up for Goff/Wentz....I could easily see them dealing with the Titans to get their 2nd rounder back and dropping down to 15.
