You'll get there. It seemed insane to me just a few months ago. The whole process felt so far away the whole time. It still kinda does. But now that it just hit me... next friday.. It's mind-blowing.

 

One of my best friends is about to buy her first home and even just looking at homes is exciting/but at the same time very much a "I'm not where I should be, am I?" moment.

If I get there any time soon, miracles will have happened. And not just like, a minor one. A beyond major one. Which one did you end up going with? More renos or less reno?

 

I'm excited to get my paycheck of like $400 today, should be able to afford a house any day now

More renovations. Redoing the entire kitchen, bathroom, new floors upstairs, building a 1 story deck attached to the dining room(house is on a hill), and the whole house is being repainted too.

 

Yeah, my best friend just moved into his house recently, and it's so exciting to see it all happen, but I'm over here like... damn, I'm not going to be able to feel this for a long time.

 

I want to own a home because I want to be a dad and I think it's pretty important for kids to have their own space and yard to play in/have a dog. I also like landscaping, despite being allergic to mostly everything that grows.

But if I knew it was just me for life, I don't think I'd ever own one. Modernized industrial lofts or something in that case.

Our house is built into a hill like that, too. We rebuilt our porch in 2015. You're in for a lot of work!

I guess the upside is we can not spend money on things like round-up, lawn mowers, and vacuums?

I understand wanting to build a house so it has everything you want but Atlanta has GOBS of foreclosed and empty houses. My bff and her fiancé are almost finished building this monstrosity.



I think part of the reason she and I have been such close friends for so long is bc we're almost complete opposites when it comes to particular things. She's materialistic and I'm not in the slightest.

 

I want a house and will probably buy one at some point but if I don't I won't be heartbroken about it

 

It's just too expensive to keep renting. It doesn't make sense
