I have the first pressing white TDAG.

 

Two years ago today, the madness that was the TDAG books randomly showing up nine years after the fact happened. What a day that was, good lord.

 

I'm still disappointed I never received mine. I wonder out of how many they made were returned undeliverable, and if those will ever see the light of day.

 

Two years ago I think most of us were convinced that an album was imminent. It was also about two years ago people thought it was a good idea to send their blood to Brand New.... it was a weird time two years ago haha

 

Me as well. I sent in that damn dollar back in November of 06 and haven't heard anything from them.

 

I thought about sending a dollar for so long when I got that record. Even though I'm from the U.K. I assumed I'd never get it and I still wonder if I ever would have.

Come to think of it...has anything come of the street team? I applied with my friend's Pittsburgh address. I've heard nothing since!

 

The one on PMT? I've heard nothing either and applied with UK address.

 

Yeah! I used a UK address but they didn't allow UK postcodes? Only zip codes! At least that's what happened with me.

 

A few of us will get something in the mail about 8 years from now. And LP5 still will not exist #neverfinished

 

Yeah I think I just set my zip code to something like 00000 and it seemed to work.

 

I assumed the worse and reckoned they'd clock on to that not being valid and not send things out! But thus far nobody seems to have anything whatsoever haha!

 

Mad random. Just watched these videos of rhythmic handpan and rav drums and rememered that there's a picture of Garret in the studio playing one. Really curious to hear how and if they incorporated that instrument in the new album

 

Someone on Reddit found this at a beach in Charleston. I'm no good with numerals - I think they said it read May 21st 2017? I don't for a second believe it's of any relevance (honest...definitely not hopeful...maybe a bit) but damn, this fanbase is bloody committed to winding each other up. This must've taken forever?!

 

The Roman numerals certainly look like they say "5-21-2017".

But that could also be a math problem, which nets out to -2033.

Which seems like the temperature at which Hell might freeze over.

Which is when we're getting a new album from Brand New.

7/10/2009: Live at North Star Bar, Philadelphia, PA — Band covers "El Scorcho," in addition to "Oh Comely."

 

I was randomly watching some live Brand New on the youtubes and it made me realise I need to prepare for the end. :(
I've not actively searched out any new stuff in forever, so what bands can I pick up and go see live and feel the feels like I feel for BN? Anything from YFW to Daisy vibes.

 

you're a treasure. Seen video of El scorcho and oh comely, never of them doing say it ain't so

 

Citizen's full length's and Seahaven's Winter Forever album give me Brand New vibes at times. Other than that, it's hard for me to ever say any band can or does what Brand New does.

 

Bands are often at their worst when trying to sound like Brand New.
Case in point: Seahaven's Reverie Lagoon is a million times better than winter forever, which I like.
There are bands that take the non superficial qualities of them and are great tho
