This one random poster aside, I rarely see people berating others for not separating art and artist. Usually the other way around. Everyone gets to draw their own line.

 

It goes both ways from what I've seen. Just cuz you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. But it absolutely happens on both sides. However, if you still support the art of a woman beater or rapist or something along those lines ima side eye you, I just am. You still like the art of a loud mouth who said ignorant shit I don't care, I do too. Certain actions, though, can't be looked past imo

 

Sure, I can see that. I feel like I'm fair in the area of what I actually judge a shitty person by. I know some real asshole people that make great music, but they aren't beating up women or disrespecting fans (to my knowledge) and there are people that don't find them as shitty as I do.

In a case like Ronnie Radke though, it's hard for me to understand why anyone would give him a pass.

i think @Kiana and @sophos34 had a lot of posts worthy of reading and taking into account, fwiw.

 

I am very proud to say I have never had a period of my life where I look back and I'm ashamed of my music taste. Obviously that might change in time because I'm only 19. But so far, so good.

 

I've always just expanded but never abandoned anything I liked as a kid/highschool. I can say there are things I may have never liked now that I did back then, but I don't dislike anything I ever did. Limp Bizkit comes to mind as something everyone loved and now hates.

 

Yeah I've definitely expanded. Like even a few years ago I never saw myself listening to rap, hardcore, or romantic era piano. Now I listen to all of those frequently.
