Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I also think Westbrook should win it.

Because apparently they were supposed to be a pretty average team, but now they're successful because of Harden and now the supporting cast is too good? Don't get me wrong, I like D'Antoni and he's done a great job but at best they're matching the win total of their 2014-15 season which had Kevin McHale as the head coach so I wouldn't put it completely on him. Ironically, wins were more important in the '14-15 MVP race. I think D'Antoni has helped Harden become more efficient and has utilized him well as a PG (obviously with career high in assists), but it's another year where Harden drags a ragtag group to the playoffs (2 years with 54+ wins) with outrageous numbers that are being over looked because Westbrook crossed an arbitrary (yet impressive) line.

Also, this guy sums it up a lot better than me.

  4. I get your point, and I don't even disagree with most of what you're saying. But you lose me when you say people are overlooking Harden's amazing numbers and then follow it up by saying what Westbrook accomplished is just "arbitrary".

What I mean is people are freaking out over triple doubles which I think is an impressive accomplishment, but if someone has 8 or 9 rebounds I don't think it is that much more impressive to "cross the line" with 1 or 2 more rebounds.

Also sorry, I've gotten a little too hyped up during this past week or so when I get on r/NBA in the morning and only see Harden hate/WB praise.

  10. But I think there's reason to freak out over it. I don't get the narrative that's developed over the last year that getting a triple double is some easy accomplishment. I hear it on the radio and on TV all the time. It's like now that he's done it so much people aren't as impressed by it.

  11. As far as Julez claim that he's just stat padding and not trying to help the team. It speaks volumes that their record is 33-9 when he gets a triple double (13-25 in other games). That team requires him to completely take over the game. They have no other consistent scorers. Like I said before, they lost a top-5 player in the league. When that happened everyone said "Westbrook is gonna have to average a triple double for that team to be good". And he delivered.

Oh no, it is for sure crazy and not easy. I thought it was crazy last year when him and Draymond both got in the double digits, but this year if you don't even count Westbrook's triple doubles we almost doubled the average of 35 triple doubles in a typical year with 70+. So there does seem to be some sort of trend with the number of triple doubles rising these past few years.

Triple doubles are obviously impressive but it's ridiculous that it seems like people value a game of 30/10/12 so far above a game of 30/15/9.

I guess they don't want the Bulls to make the playoffs. That's okay, I'm not sure Bulls fans want the team to make the playoffs either.

Bottom line is, seeding truly doesn't matter to Cavs. My problem is, they're really, really backpedaling into the playoffs. It's not a big deal that they'll finish 2 in the East because they've proven they can handle Boston (home or away) and honestly, I'm not even so sure Boston gets to the Eastern Conference Finals. We're talking about a team who has yet to win a road playoff game.

EDIT: I am a bit surprised that LeBron isn't salivating at the mouth though to keep Pat Riley's team out of the playoffs, given their bad blood.

Seems pretty ludicrous to me to criticize someone for stat padding and not playing team basketball when they're 3rd in the league in assists (0.9pg behind Harden) on a roster with no shooters.
The offense runs through him cause he's Russell Fuckin Westbrook on a team full of Alex Abrines' and Jerami Grant's

Well if you're a Heat fan you're thanking your lucky stars that you may now actually make the playoffs.

  22. The Miami fans hoping their team gets to play in the postseason? Probably not that mad.

EDIT: and that's why you refresh before posting if you've had a tab open for a bit

  23. Just last year I thought Steven Adams was one of the best centers in the league and Victor is also a good player. I think the OKC supporting cast gets shit on way too much to be honest.

Apparently Love isn't sitting out. He must have shaken that "illness" since this morning.

  25. Fans are so cynical.

I wake up feeling bad some days, and feel better by the evening after a long nap and good food. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
