I always include DED in the neighborhoods spot since it was an EP around the same time and has a similar tone to neighborhoods imo

I liked DED a lot more than Neighborhoods, originally. I felt like the overall production of it sounded better, and the first 3 tracks of DED are pretty great! "Boxing Day" is fine for what it is, but I neverrrrr got into "Pretty Little Girl" and I still don't understand when people say that's their favorite.

 

A question which the answer eludes you and I both man.

 

I like the basspart in that song alot

 

Dude Ranch is much better than any of their other albums

 

Subjectively, sure.

 

Personally I rank DED behind Neighborhoods because the songs I like on Neighborhoods I like more than DED. After Midnight, Even If She Falls, and Wishing Well I would take over any of the songs on DED and would rank Ghost on the Dance Floor, Up All Night and Kaleidoscope with the songs on DED. But I agree with you When I Was Young, DED and Disaster are good songs and Boxing Day is fine too. I don't mind Pretty Little Girl either but I think it's the album's weakest track with the rapping part or not. And yes the production does sound better too. When DED first came out I was definitely excited for the band's next album because I thought overall the EP was more encouraging than Neighborhoods.

 

Still to this day I think When I Was Young is a top tier Blink song.
