Yeah, it's way more grounded than Stella was, but just the way Sam and Tim interact with each other and bounce off one another reminds me of the rhythms that they hit on Stella. Sam and Tim have been friends for years so they possess the same kind of easy, infections comedic chemistry that Michael, Michael, and David had as well; you can tell they just love working with each other. Their characters sort of behave in the same kind of man-children way as the Stella characters, too. Nothing as off-the-wall as, say, growing crops in the hardwood floor of their apartment, though haha

About to watch A Fantastic Fear of Everything. You guys know about this one? I somehow only just heard about it today. Simon Pegg is awesome. Hoping it's good

  3. I remember starting this one night and thinking it wasn't great, so I never went back to it. Let me know if I was wrong!

Here I am reading this after turning it off when it was only halfway through. To be fair, my parents called and we had an hour long conversation, so it's now my bedtime and I'm going to start it over in the morning, but... yeah, I wouldn't use the word "great" to describe it so far

I know TJ Miller said he doesn't think the show is like an Adult Swim show but, well, the whole time I was thinking, "Why isn't this on Adult Swim?"

  8. Hahaha it's basically The Eric Andre Show with a giant animatronic monster, which is cool

Another Silly Con Valley Poo Crew episode with out TJ... it's probably nothing but I wouldn't be surprised if TJ isn't welcome on CBB.

Talking with Chris Hardwick is very promising. I'm not even that interested in Elijah Wood but the whole hour held my attention. Hardwick really is a great interviewer imo

He has the Silicon Valley cast next week too

It really was a lot like a visual version of his podcast, which is good because he really is a great interviewer.

Part of me thinks TJ is just really busy but I've always wondered if he and Scott didn't get along.

Found this in an AMA with Scott in 2014: "I just saw TJ in Ausin and reminded myself that I need to get him on the show! He flaked a couple of times on the UCB live show I produced, so it gave me the impression that he's hard to contact. I would love to have him, though!"

So, I'm seeing Chris Rock next Wednesday night in CLE, which I'm really excited for...but at this point, I'm almost more interested in seeing who the opener is. He's been having a major surprise opener every night of his tour. Everyone from Chappelle, Bo Burnham, Jeselnik, Hannibal, etc.

I completely forgot it was time for a new season of Silicon Valley until I saw the CBB lineup

I think the most sensible opener would actually be Chappelle, since he only lives a few hours away from Cleveland. But I don't want to get my hopes up.

True, I'm sure any comic though would travel with/make the drive out to open for Rock though. I like the idea you said of having a new random opener for every night of that caliber.

Yeah, it's crazy. There are probably only a small handful of comics who could pull major headliners for one-off opening slots (with zero promotion). Rock is obviously one of them.

I slept on Rock for so long because of his movie career which I think has more misses than hits, but I saw 3 older specials on HBO on demand a few months back and fell in love.

His movies are God awful, haha. But his stand-up is brilliant. All of his specials are fantastic. This will be my second time seeing him (last time I saw him was 2008, which was his last tour.)

I really only liked him in Bad Company, Top 5 and the two Kevin Smith movies he was in lol.

I've actually yet to see Top 5, although it's been on my DVR for like two years. I did enjoy I Think I Love My Wife (although the ending is absurd) and the remake of Death at a Funeral, but other than that...no thanks to his other films.
