Don't know if anyone is in the market for a portable SSD, but Western Digital is bringing it to their My Passport lineup.

 

That thing looks absolutely beautiful, and definitely cheaper than I would have expected.

 

Definitely a nice looking hard drive. I don't know what the comparisons are price-wise to others that may be on the market, but I thought the prices for this one seemed pretty reasonable for a SSD.

 

Anyone use one of those apps for unlimited movies? I used cinemabox (aka Showbox, playbox i think) on my iPhone 6, and loved it cause I could chromecast stuff, but with my 7, I can't find any. I also don't want to have to put anything on my PC...

 

I wish you could shuffle your heavy rotation on Apple Music.

 

I can't wait for these to get even more space and come down in price.

 

Hoping they will become the new norm for portable drives sooner rather than later!

 

So I ended up getting a Pro today, with the deal they had I basically paid full price for the computer and got the AppleCare for free. I love it so far!

Nothing specific at the moment but like basic stuff that you use everyday that you'd recommend. Like right now, I'm using spark email but I'm open to hearing what you guys like.

 

Gonna be a nerd and go through this for like the third time to try some new apps again.

 

So I was trying to watch something from Amazon video on my Apple TV using airplay but it's saying there is a HDCP error, has anybody had this problem?

 

If you're in school, the app myHomework is super cool for reminding you about homework and managing classes

 

f.lux is my top tip. It's one of those screen dimmer/warmer apps. You can set it to automatically reduce the screen's blue light as night falls. Trust me, it's so much better for before you go to bed!

 

I hate doing this because it's such a pretty machine, but I found a pretty good hardshell case for my 2016 MacBook Pro on Amazon, if anyone is interested. I hate cases like this, but since I'm lugging this around school so much, it feels necessary.

I've been using Airmail for a little over a year now. It has some nice features like hiding an email until a later date, color coding, and generally just not feeling as bloated as OSX Mail.

Also, I really like GrandPerspective. It provides a really great visualization of how your storage space is used. It looks a little dated now, and is definitely not as necsssary now that 10.12 has some of the same drive optimization features built in, but it might be worth checking out if you are as OCD at keeping your stuff as clean and organized as possible.

Sudden problem as of like two hours ago: my iPhone 6 will connect to wifi but won't actually switch over from LTE, and also won't load anything over LTE. Anyone else ever had this problem?

To be fair, I did go to Samsung for a year and it was horrible. Will likely be Apple for life.

 

So did my buddy. He couldn't even last 6 months on a Samsung until he moved back to Apple.
