I agree with some of that but would definitely give the edge to Bored to Death and No Future over Natives and the Hearts All Gone interlude.

 

Ghost on the Dance Floor vs. Cynical is the toughest out of all of those

 

I remember hearing that very brief, low quality clip of "Good Old Days" and I keep picture "Make Me So" by Yellowcard. At least in terms of the tempo and the beat. I love that style though for rock, so I'm really curious to see how it turns out!

Also, I kept feeling like we had heard most of the deluxe already but seeing that list made me realize how much of it we still have yet to hear. Color me stoked.

 

I'm with you. As much as I'd like to hear what Matt and Mark would come up with on their own, I don't care if they have 20 co-writers if the songs are good. Like I'd put BTD up there with anything post reunion even if it turned out Feldmann wrote every note of it. Finn was just apparently better at writing or inspiring them to write more songs I like.

 

I have no problem with co-writers, it's Feldmann and his methods that I have a specific issue with. For the most part, he makes the songs worse. His "first thought best thought" perspective and his obsession with finishing a song asap lead to bad lyricism, formulaic structures and so on.

Plus, he has some awful preconceptions about what blink should sound like. I think I recall him saying in some interview regarding California that while producing he determined that no song should be longer than 4 minutes or something like that. I think he also recommended avoiding the Bauhaus reference in "She's Out Of Her Mind", because blink fans wouldn't understand it. Ugh...

 

They should just let Matt write the songs. Hell, they should let Matt write Marks bass lines, Travis drum parts and may as well let him produce too. The man is god aha.

 

Also, outside of a few albums anything Feldman has done is crap in my opinion. California is on that short list that isn't crap.

 

Just producing you mean? All I like are the first two Used albums, Page Avenue by SOTY and Vices And Virtues by Panic. Most of his stuff I hate. The rest of The Used albums and D.R.U.G.S. were overproduced into oblivion lol

 

Yes just producing, I love his work in Goldfinger. It's funny, I still love Atreyu, but it makes sense to me why I hate Lead Sails. Because he produced it !

 

Yeah up through Open My Eyes I love Goldfinger. He's so hit or miss. I listened to a few 5SOS songs after California came out and I don't think people realize he was pretty restrained with Blink. Like everything he did on Bored To Death is pretty perfect to me.

 

See, BTD is a perfect song. Like I would have never thought he had anything to do with it.

 

After that article I Can't Get You More pregnant and Wildfire are the ones im the least excited about hearing, everything else sounds good.

I do love how Blink has such a varied fan base, and how people can have different tastes. Not knocking your list or anything

He helped Linkin Park IMO and without Rick Rubin, LP have diminished in quality.

Los Angeles grew on me a lot. The verses are still pretty awful. The Chorus is great and It's probably my favorite bridge Mark has ever done.
