He's burned faces, thrown the doc in the fire, spilled Spencer's guts on the floor, killed the rapist, etc. Maybe nothing to Rick's group, but he's still brutal.

He's "TV brutal." He had his moment in the premier but since then, hasn't done anything TOO nefarious. He runs the Sanctuary in a no-bullshit type of way, and punishes his own people depending on their "crime." That's all well and good, but when it comes to the core group of characters, he's a blow-hard.

Negan has had so many chances to get rid of Rick, or at least practice some serious motivational ideas (hurting Carl, or at least take Judith). I get that it's a TV show but come on, make Negan go full-bad.

Ezekiel's line 'Alexandria will not fall today' when he comes out shooting at the conveniently perfect moment was one of the more laughable scenes/lines of the entire series. So ridiculously cheesy.

At least with him we know he's playing a character. I really hope he breaks and becomes his real self next season.

I agree. Rick's group goes into sanctuaries and stabs people in the head while they're sleeping. No dramatic touch to it. Just kills them, cold blooded. I posted a few weeks ago in this thread, Negan is hardly evil. He kills people who cross him. Rick and his group have killed WAY more of Negan's people than Negan has Rick's group and it's not even close whatsoever. Yet the writers get all dramatic when Negan might kill one of Rick's people. It's getting old.

Also, if the entire Season 8 focuses on the all out war, good god. This has already been dragged on so unnecessarily long.

I'll bet a massive amount of money that is exactly what happens. They spent this entire season PREPARING for it.

multiple year time jump will be where 9 picks up

Except when he bashes people's skull in when he first introduced himself (is the only time he kills when he isn't double-crossed).

Something else I kind of wish they had touched base on is the "green room" in the outpost they attacked of the Saviors'. Do they all smoke weed haha. Does Negan keep it all to himself? Considering they take pretty much whatever they want, making a business out of if doesn't really make sense.

He killed TWO of Rick's people because Rick killed DOZENS of his people.

I wasn't referring to Rick's group, rather all the pictures we see on the wall. By the way, I completely agree that Rick is more evil than Negan, at least to enemies.

I wish they killed Carl and took Ricks hands off. I'd be on board for that.

Wish we could have gotten a conversation with Rick explaining to Michonne why he has to lay with the Trash Queen in order to keep everyone alive

I wish instead we got a conversation with the Saviors on the drive home from the fight asking "was that really a fucking tiger running around?"

The tiger is such utter bullshit. How in the hell can it differentiate between bad guys and good guys? Everyone is firing guns/fighting and it doesn't know all of the residents of Alexandria.

Negan never met with the King himself, right? I was trying to figure out how they didn't know about Shiva. But I guess at the drops, they never bring her around

I love the tiger honestly, but yeah I think she may kill some of her own team on accident. Do animals become zombies if they die as well? If so they better hope she never gets shot.

And yeah, Negan and the King have met on drops but Shiva is never there.

From what I can gather, the people of the Kingdom do not even know the Saviors exist, outside of the leadership of it. They make their drops away from the Kingdom, and the same people always go.

We didn't get much of the backstory from what I can remember, but I got the impression that the Saviors found their group on the road and perhaps Ezekial made a deal ASAP to save one of his own. Like "yes, we will serve you, no need for a message, we just request that the drops are done here" or whatever.

They say Ben's dad died and Ezekial said he owed him and was training him to take over, so I took it as when Negan entered the scene he did the same as Rick's group and Ben's dad got the bat to show they were serious. If that's true, it makes sense why Ezekial took his death personally and felt like he owed his son. I guess he think's its better to keep everyone in the dark instead of scared and panicked.

Ah yeah good point. Perhaps Negan/The saviors were feeling generous that day and decided they didn't have to go to the Kingdom and all that, just trusted Ezekial to make the drops there every week.

Yeah, I think all they care about is keeping order and getting their stuff. If after they made a point about how serious they were and killed Ben's dad, they were probably ok with Ezekial telling Negan it would go smoother for everyone if the actually community was in the dark.

I do wonder though if all of the Kingdom knows now though? Only the fighters who normally show up for the drops showed up who already know about the Saviors, so its possible everyone else there is in the dark lol.

To those criticizing how Shiva attaches only the Saviors, read this:

Yeah, I loved that Shiva showed up for the fight but I wish Michonne sniping someone would have what stopped Carl from getting killed and THEN the Hilltop shows up. I also would have loved a scene of a tiger jumping on someone and having like 5 dudes around there just look at her and run.

What a shocker. Fine, wrap up the entire war by the end of 8a.

Then 8b will have Negan locked up in Alexandria? What else after that but before the time jump?

I don't follow the comics, but I don't mind if you spoil it for me...what is the timejump? and what's the storyline once the timejump occurs?
