At first I didnt like it... But I think Ive changed my mind.

 

This really isn't comparable to Tom. He was offered an opportunity that a great majority of Trio fans have been supportive of, even fans that don't care for blink (from what I've seen.) A lot of them will be super pissed obviously if Trio did end due to blink, but this wasn't an ego or inability to work with Dan or Derek thing.

And again let's see what happens before we assume anything.

 

Same except flip flop SD and NF and we'd have the same top 6. I will say 'Misery' is a tentative 5th right now, as it's still new and my taste in most of the California songs changed day to day

 

@slimfenix182 I'm with you. I want more Trio but having my two of my favorite musicians working together is enough to ease the pain.

I'm so glad Mark is writing bridges again. That's one of my favorite things about this new era.

 

Mark's bridge is legit. the way he's singing gives me a plus 44 vibe

Mark's bridge work in BTD and LA is probably his best work bridge-wise, IMO. Misery bridge is my favorite part of the song. Helps me enjoy the song more.

 

Feldmann got Mark to write San Diego and bridges, two things he didn't want to do, gotta give him that haha.

 

But those lyrics are so rushed. Mark can write some better texts when he overthinks it.
The song is great musically but I would love to hear some smart and mature lyrics.

I don't mind this song, and that's more than I can say for like 80% of California. This isn't so bad. Agree about the lyrics, but I've been saying that since the beginning, Mark can write better than this.

On the topic if Trio: I'll take My Shame is True over California every single day of the week, so I'm hoping blink's ambitious plans don't stop Matt from returning to his work.

This song is giving me a dozen feels, i love it. The chorus is amazing

 

In the interview Mark says Hey Im Sorry didn't make the cut because it sounds like two other songs on the album....which ones? I can't figure that out lol

 

Prob San Diego and Left Alone tone-wise I would guess

 

Excited to see Blink so active again and heading back to the studio so soon, but I'm bummed about Alkaline Trio.

I would seriously love if Blink did a short US tour with ALK3 as an opener.

 

I can hear Left Alone a little and then maybe HISALP in Mark's verses (maybe?)

 

Haven't even listened to the song yet because I made the mistake of reading the interview first and now I'm just sad.
