I don't know why I thought any different but I was really hoping this PS4 exclusive shit would end after destiny 1.

 

Yeah it's shitty that that's still a thing re: timed exclusive content. I'm still of the mentality that the platforms need exclusives to compete with one another and differentiate themselves, but those exclusives should be limited to their own first-party developers. The same game having less content on a different platform is just stupid, at this point.

That said, now that we know it's continuing, I am glad I play on PS4.

I'll probably never get Epic Raider and Flawless Raider. :(

 

Flawless Raider is the only one I need. It's so damn hard to get if you don't have a reliable and skilled raid team. Which I don't. I do just fine on LFG getting groups that can complete the raid and do the challenges, but finding randoms that also don't die is pretty hard.

 

I know man its ridiculous. Apparently there is a way to flawless Crota though

 

Yeah, you try to three-or-four-man it and hope the Crota fight doesn't glitch out haha

So, the city is burning. Looks like all that stuff about the Cabal attacking the city was true. I'm willing to bet it isn't just the Cabal though. Wouldn't surprise me if the Cabal and one of the other factions (I'm thinking the Fallen) teamed up, or if the Cabal teamed up with some new race in some way. Going to be so exciting.

I actually just remembered my theory about the Concordat, and it kind of dovetails with the Cabal attack on the City being teased in this image. If you don't know about the Concordat. Basically, the Concordat was one of the original factions that feuded over the Last City, and was a major player in the "Faction Wars" (as was New Monarchy, for example) which took place before the current government of the City, the Consensus, was established. The Concordat, led by Lysander, were fiercely anti-Osiris in the aftermath of the Battle of the Sixth fronts, and eventually rose against the Speaker. The rest of the Consensus, led by New Monarchy, defeated the Concordat in battle at the tower from the PVP map Bannerfall, and nobody has heard of them since then.

As for my theory, I think that the Concordat will have returned and are working with the Cabal to attack the City as revenge. This would explain how the Cabal are able to catch the City unawares, infiltrate its defenses, and destroy it. I thought this up after watching Byf's video about Lysander and the Concordat. In the video, he mentions that in the Grimoire there is a suggestion that people still loyal to the Concordat are still living in the City, like sleeper agents, which would mean they would only need to be given the signal to help start the attack once the Cabal emperor arrives in the system. Age of Triumph begins today. Just so everyone is clear, because Deej wasn't during any of the reveal streams, only Crota's End 390 will be available this week. The 390 VoG won't be accessible until next Tuesday when VoG is the weekly featured raid. The same goes for the 390 King's Fall (although, let's be honest, who cares about 390 King's Fall) the week later. Basically, the regular, non-featured 390 version of each raid won't be available until that raid is the weekly raid for the first time; after that, you'll always be able to access the 390 version from the director, it just won't have any of the challenges activated. So, next week, Crota 390 and VoG 390 will be available, but not King's Fall 390. The week after that, all four raids will be able to be run at 390, even though only one raid per week will have the challenges activated.

 

King's Fall is my favorite raid :(

Haven't played in months. Never even finished Kinds Falls and never even tried WotM, but now i'm back in trying to get my light up to 390 so I can do these raids. I'm at 367 and need the fastest way to get there.

 

every vendor, bounty, and activity can reward up to 400 now. so literally anything. play through the story, do some strikes, or play crucible if you wanna.

 

Nice! Didn't know that was an update with the Age of Triumph so I'm super glad to hear that.

 

You can buy all vendor gear at 380 as well now too, and legendary marks can be earned in large quantities from doing the weekly story playlist, heroic strikes, and the featured crucible stuff. Also, spend some time in Archon's Forge because you can get special weapons, armor, and class items from it that drop at high light levels as well (plus the sniper and fusion rifle you can get from it are really good).

 

So, I finished Crota's End 390 yesterday and did both the challenges on my titan. Got back to Crota on my warlock but couldn't find a group that could finish the fight. Just from doing three challenges alone between those two characters, I got:

Not a bad loot haul so far this week. Going to finish the nechrochasm quest, kill Crota on my warlock, and hopefully also run through the raid on my hunter as well tonight.

Thoughts on Crota's End:
I fell off from Destiny between right before Dark Below and five weeks left in House of Wolves (I can't even complete that node of my Age of Triumph record book), so while I have experience with the two Y1 raids I was never as experienced with them as I am with King's Fall and Wrath of the Machine. It was amazing to me, then, how it easy it was to not only recall how to do all the encounters in Crota's End, but also to adapt to the challenges (although, to be honest, only the Ir-Yut challenge is difficult and that's because it's essentially a speed run where every single person on the fireteam needs to know exactly where they need to be at all times and nobody can be late or make a mistake). The raid itself is so fun, though. The fast-paced, action-oriented design philosophy behind the raid really comes through in this "director's cut" version; the changes Bungie made to the raid, especially to the Bridge encounter, are all good ones and there are nowhere near as many technical problems as there were with Crota's End all throughout Y1. Playing through it now, two years removed from it's initial release and with new and exciting gear to earn, I have to say that my appreciation for it has increased quite a bit.

 

Can I change the thread title to Destiny 2 with the date? This thread name makes my head hurt. lol

 

I was trying to decide what to do about that myself, honestly. Because Destiny is still going on, but Destiny 2 is on the horizon as well now. I'll change it, though.

 

Thanks! Haha. Its tough when you have video game series like this. I feel like its important to get those dates up there so people are aware but you don't want to take away from what the thread is about as a whole. I think people will get it in this instance though.
