I spent way too much time last night opening up packs for DD on The Show last night.

 

Haven't the O's been pretty consistently good the last several years? They won the division a few years ago by several games, last year seemed like a fluke/health issues.

 

Yeah they have been consistently good the last few years, but it kinda came out of nowhere. I mean for a while they were pretty consistently one of the weaker teams in the AL East, but I feel like now it's them and Toronto up top.

 

The O's are going to need to get more than 5 IP from their starters. Not being able to go deep into games is going to kill the bullpen. This team is going to mash all year though. I don't know if I've ever seen a more potent lineup, even with Jones out. Enjoying this run to start the season. At some point, they're going to lose a game, but hopefully won't be tonight!

 

Couple of things:

1)I lied about the Rangers rotation having ALL Quality Starts, they now have 8 QS in 9 games(Holland only pitched 5+ in his first game) still really really impressive

2)Holland sure looked like his studly self again last night, reminded me of his amazing WS appearances.

3)The M's scored 21 runs off the Rangers in the first 3 games of the season. Since then in 5 games, they've scored 7 runs total. My dad joked that they won't score 21 runs for the rest of April combined, they are definitely on pace.

 

Last year was a really strong start, but last few months were rough. 2015 season they went .500 (81-81), the year before that they were .593 (96-66) and won the division. 2011 and prior they didn't even make it over .430.

 

I would love for them to sweep the Sox on their opening week.

 

Definitely seems like they are on the upswing then. Seems like Buck Showalter has done wonders for them though.

 

Absolutely. The city loves Buck. They've improved tremendously since he came in 2010-11.

I go to FanFest every year, and I just go straight to the players/coaches Q&A. This year, I was sitting with my wife and kid and Buck sat right next to us because he wanted to hide in the crowd to ask a silly question to his players. He's a nice dude.

 

I just want to see Crush Davis hit 200 homers.

I'm not that worried about the Sox. Offense has looked good. And the O's are going to do this to a LOT of teams this year.

 

Fondly remember his days in Texas, he was well loved here as well, the team itself just wasn't very good. Do I see an O's/Rangers ALCS coming?

 

I think the Os have been one of those teams where if things fall into place for them they will do good but just haven't lucked out.

 

Well last year, at the end of the season, they just looked beaten and bruised. Bullpen was terrible

 

The Orioles are just a fabrication, they won't be this good throughout the season.

Dumb question. What is RTTS and OSFM rosters? I've only owned one baseball game in my life, and it wasn't The Show, haha.

What is the equivalent to say, franchise mode in Madden, and how is it?

RTTS = Road To The Show, basically you draft a guy and follow them (hopefully) to the majors. not sure what the other is.

OSFM means "Operation Sports Full Minors," which is a community-made roster to include ALL of the minor league players by real name and appearance in the game. Currently, The Show only has license to use MLBPA players, not the minors, so minor leaguers are randomly generated. A group of people from the website Operation Sports go through and take the time to edit / create every minor league player. It makes the game a lot more fun if you know prospects and whatnot.

I think people did the same thing for the NCAA Football games back in the day.

 

2k also has that, wish they would just pay and get the legit process but I give the people who create the guys a lot of credit. It takes a lot of patience.
