Thank you. Turns out the libraries in my city don't have Lost Stars... but they do have Bloodline so I've reserved that and will start there.

  2. Damn...last night's episodes were great.

Thrawn is awesome. Can't wait for his book to come out.

It's all good. I was only halfway through watching when I posted.

I enjoyed the episodes a lot, but in some ways this felt like the lowest stakes of the finales for me. The way Kanan was talking at the start, I feared he was gonna bite it. But it was just Soto. And even Kallus got away, but I am happy about that. Just seemed less intense than the Grand Inquisitor showdown and Ahsoka vs Vader.

I enjoyed the finale. The first half more so than the second. The first half set up some very high stakes for the rebels, but the second still seemed to make everything seem pretty inconsequential. I really didn't like the Bendu turning into some storm and Thrawn just being able to shoot at a cloud to bring him down. Although I did like the final moment between them. We saw so many rebel ships get destroyed, but it still seemed like they got away too cleanly.

  7. I found that finale EXTREMELY satisfying. Very impressed.

I've been gone awhile and i'm pretty happy to see this thread as active as it is.

Just depends on what part of the Canon you're most interested in right now. My favirote is Bloodline, The Aftermath trilogy is good too if you can get past the writing style. Also, read Catalyst and then watch Rogue One and see half of that movie a different way.

I'm glad there's a good amonunt of positivity for Rebels in here. I know there are mixed reviews other places online, but i've been really enjoying it all. The Finale I thought was great.

Is anyone reading the current comics? Just two issues in, but the new Darth Maul series is really good. Cad Bane and Aurroa Sing for the Clone Wars fans makes it even better. Gives you a better idea of who he was and his mindset before The Phantom Menace.

Also, really excited to read the new Vader series coming in July i think. Picks up right after Revenge of the Sith. Apparently shows how he constructs his red lightsaber. I'm always game for me prequel era stuff.

The only comics I haven't read are Chewbacca because the first issue wasn't very interesting to me and the Force Awakens adaptation. Maul has been a lot of fun and I really liked the nod to Rebels with him going to Malacore with Palpatine. I like the idea of the new Vader comic, but it's weird to cancel the first Vader comic only to have another one start back up again 6 months later.

Yea, but both comics are in different periods of time. The first Vader comic was between A New Hope and Empire and there's only so much story you can have there without it seeming like too much is happening (they're taking it slower in the Star Wars series and telling other stories, but i'm at the point where we need to hit Empire soon with that series). This series could go on for quite a while. Especially since now with all the canon that's out there, the time between episode 3 and Rebels/Rogue One is the most unexplored of the whole saga other than the 30 years after Jedi.
    I'm very excited for it.

Yeah Lords of the Sith did a good job of showing a lot of the inner turmoil Vader has which was the past part of the book to me and this should be even more focused on it. It's just odd that Marvel wouldn't just put the new team on and keep it going, but I guess it's not considering how they're view their superhero comics with every series having a new #1 after each big event. The time period I'm hoping for is still between Empire and Jedi. Totally open and they still haven't done anything with it.

Finally watched the Rebels finale and it was really good, but Kanan cutting the AT-AT legs like butter annoyed me so much more than it probably should have and the Deus Ex-Bendu was a little too out there for my liking. This was a fantastic episode for Hera and Sabine though and I hope the 4th season focuses more on them. I really liked seeing the Death Troopers with Thrawn as well and hope that we do get to see the Battle of Scarif from the Rebels perspective next season especially after seeing how great this space battle was.

Also on a related note, I watched The Force Awakens for the first time since reading Aftermath:Empire's End and it does add a lot to the history of the First Order, Hux, and the stormtrooper program that enhances the movie well. It's one thing to read it but it's another to see the connections on screen. Plus connecting Snap is the one to blame for the First Order knowing the location of the Resistance base because he got followed on his recon flight is kind of funny.

I'm convinced they won't shed light on what happens between Empire and Jedi, especially with luke and vader until after The Last Jedi. There's a good amount of story there (though the timeline should be considerably shorter than between ANH and Empire) especially with luke. But probably a lot of stuff with Vader and Palpatine.

Thanks to @Dodge725, @FlayedManOfSF & @cbow52 for the Bloodlines recommendation. I really enjoyed it and great to see some of the political history in between the end of the original films and The Force Awakens. Looking forward to diving into more of these books in the near future.

Rewatched Revenge of the Sith today and Greivious's line to Anakin that "Based on your reputation I expected someone older." made me think it was a continuity error because those two had to have met in Clones Wars, right? After looking into it, apparently the show made an effort not to let them meet to preserve that line and moment as their first meeting. It's that kind of detail that I find so impressive for an animated kids show, especially one that was made before the plan to canonize everything.

Do or do not, there is no try.

He really is just fantastic at what he does. I love how tight knit just about everything in the Lucasfilm Story Group is (books, movies, tv shows etc.)

Star Wars: Battlefront II trailer just leaked ahead of its panel this Saturday. Don't know if I'm allowed to post it here, but if you search for it hard enough, you'll find it.
