Was never truly worried he'd get the job b/c it seemed fairly obvious that for the most part it was just old heads who wanted him, but even the thought of it made me sick.

IU just got a coach that went to the sweet sixteen before he turned 40 at a non-power conference. At 38 and with a good budget, he will do fine.

Yep pretty much best case scenario in terms of who we could actually bring in that would actually be a good hire. Happy for the future of the program.

honestly, Dayton may as well pick up Crean

I would like Crean because he is a better coach than he is getting credit for, but we don't have the budget for him. My guess is an internal candidate. More specifically, Kevin Kuwik if Archie doesn't take him to IU. He previously coached at Butler and OSU before joining Dayton's staff.

Not sure how much this is posturing, but this is interesting if nothing else. Neil is Dayton AD.

Archie getting 7 years and about $4M per year according to Yahoo. That would put him at about 5th or 6th highest in the nation with Tom Izzo.

Gotta say I'm surprised Oregon is owning Kansas after how dominant they have been.
