    Maybe so, maybe not.

"We don't believe believe in filler, baby" really kills me.

  2. The band literally wrote it as a joke 'cause they couldn't finish the album and decided to write a Good Charlotte song about it. It's so bad.

No, no no. I'm pretty sure he says we don't believe in FAILURE, baby. I could be wrong, but lyrically that song is pretty perfect pop-punk. If it is filler, i'm gonna choose to believe it's failure--baby

Last I heard Jesse loved the riff, and was all over Vinnys guitar playing on that track. I can't believe it's a throwaway.

  5. It's filler.

The song is about procrastinating on the album. Fred was trying to get them to finish the album. So they wrote a bad Good Charlotte song about it. The lyrics are a joke over bad Good Charlotte music. Hahaha, they were mad I posted that track online early cause of how much they hated it but I said kids would like it.

    forbidden chalice.

Failure By Design, while not the best song in their catalog, has aged particularly well for me as I think the chorus is extremely catchy and the rest of the album, bar Soco, doesn't mesh well with me anymore as I don't like aggressive lyricism.

All 4 albums can fit into different genres, all are different approaches/vibes. I look at them as in this band was a different group of people each time. And each album is great. I will never understand any type of Brand New hate.

We've all had this conversation 1000000 times but I do want to say this:

How there are people that love an album like "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" but hate Daisy.... I will never ever wrap my head around it.

Least favorite on YFW is probably secondary or magazines. Leaning towards the former bc I actually just can't remember it

Dammnnn. Mixtape is probably one of my favorites from YFW. That could also be because it was the first Brand New song I ever heard.

Same here. I especially love the live version with the extended outro they were playing on last fall's tour.

Love Deja, Devil and God, and Daisy.

    On occasion, I like Weapon.

I'm a bit weary of LP5, because the burden of expectation is higher for it than any other piece of art that I've ever anticipated in my entire life. No matter how I try to taper my expectations, at this point I know that I can only have high expectations. (Despite the fact that it will probably never exist.)

Yeah there isn't going to be an LP5. I've already convinced myself of that.

I honestly have no expectations for a new album at this point. I'm sure it'll be good, but I know trying to hype it up like it's going to be a masterpiece gets me nowhere.

I mean... no. Just no. I get that you don't like them (especially since you were what, 8, when YFW came out?) but they are not BAD albums. Most of the love for YFW is nostalgia. It was epic when it came out. Some of the lyrics are laughable, but it's still an important album to see their progression as a band and where they started from.
