more like "missed" the exit and less like i've "missed" you in the case of INK

but like, the 01-06 "emo" scene in general is something he missed almost entirely

IDK, I heard a song and lumped them with bands like Atreyu and shit. I should revisit.

I think I like LITSOS and Ø more

The only one I own on vinyl is TCOT, sadly. Not my favorite sound of theirs

Underoath is definitely more in the Thrice/Thursday tier of that genre. They're Only Chasing Safety is the poppiest one (don't bother going earlier than this one, it's quite literally a different band), but also a scene classic. I'd guess you heard a song from this one.

I've seen then 10 times (it might be 11?) and there are very few bands who put on a show as well as they do. Their reunion TOCS/DTGL tour is one of the most amazing things I've ever been apart of. And I don't say that lightly. That night in Atlanta was pure euphoria.

Interesting! I like LITSOS, but it didn't hit the heights of DTGL for me. I admittedly didn't get into disambiguation as much. I need to revisit it. I like the two songs they did (Sunburnt and Un-something) for the anthology right before they split.

I've got the original pressing of DTGL. I'd like to own all of them. TCOT really is so weird, but I've enjoyed it in the past every now and then. I much prefer Dallas in Maylene.

Yeah. I really like s/t, II, and III... but I lost them in a hard drive failure awhile back and don't have hard copies for some reason. They're fun live, too.

Now I'm listening to TCOS for the first time in forever. The beginning of Dangerous Business is so throwed

    Tolkien misquote too

Define the Great Line was quite good, for the time, for the sub genre. And they probably reached a brief audience outside that circle with the album given that it got exposure on MTV at a time where MTV was not-so-post-popular again sorta for the fourth time. The heaviness and edgy music videos and scene hair was kinda provocative in 2006 and it provided some shock value that added to their MTV circuit I'm supposing. Its OK. I'm not sure how much most people would get out of it listening to it for the first time now especially those who dont care about or know about 'scene' music (read most people). They went on to do the same things multiple times after that album and it was pretty boring imo. They got some gnarly sounding Marshall tones on that album. You might dig that aspect if you dig the tones on the new Thrice album.

there's a good chance @lobstervegan and I will be taking a trip to New Orleans in a couple weeks. had a friend who went there and got robbed within a couple hours, so hopefully our stay is a little better than his. I think we'll be staying around the French Quarter tho. I honestly have no clue what to expect

Let me know if you need recs, I lived there for a few years.

Also I definitely recommend leaving the French Quarter, Uptown and the Marigny are must-sees.

I never felt unsafe and I lived in a pretty high-crime neighborhood.

But I'm also way too trusting so I may have been oblivious.

I can't imagine living somewhere where the humidity is like 99% all the time. Houston, Atlanta, and New Orleans come to mind. Also its smoggy af there.

What's everyone's take on Cajun food? I don't dig it much at all.
