I don't give Feldmann credit for writing as much as a lot of people think he did cause the guy couldn't write a great song for two whole Goldfinger albums and there's quite a few songs on California that I think are great so that seems illogical to me

 

There are certainly a lot of melodic things about California that sound like Feldmann (mostly choruses, especially "No Future" and "Rabbit Hole") but I think the lyrical motifs of being young/broken/outcasts have filtered their way in through his work with 5SOS, etc. Those themes are just not what Blink should be singing about in 2017. It's weird.

 

Still can't get over how awesome Skiba is on the new track. More of Skiba leads please.

 

That stuff in this song is definitely all Feldmann. It's too Good Charlottey but Matt makes up for it with his verse and his yelling in this one for me lol.

 

Awful song. Cant get passed the constant harping on nostalgia with this new iteration of blink. "I'll meet you at the target curb" - super cringey

 

You realize it's a skateboarding reference right? Skating the curb...In their defense Skiba def. still skates lol Mark def. does not.

 

Right, I was saying that Mark's tweet was a troll comment to all the people saying that Feldman is ruining their sound

I love the song but Marks verse isn't good. Matt makes the song great.

Like you can tell that Matt obviously wrote most of the song well because you know it sounds like Trio lol.

Exactly and I hope to see more. I was an Ak3 fan before he joined Blink but his abilities in this band have made me even more so

They both have their strengths and weaknesses I'd say. Just as Mark and Tom did pre breakup(1st one) they compliment each other

Weird song in that Matt's verse is about a very specific memory of his in Chicago, and then Mark seems to be singing about some made-up, shared alternate past with him and Skiba? Unless one of Mark's old friends was also named Matt, but ... just change the name so it doesn't sound like you're singing about your now bandmate.

 

Well that's my point haha. The more Feldmann writing, the weaker the song lol. Rabbit Hole and No Future are the two most evident ones of Feldmann. The way Matt sings his verse in No Future, his inflections are textbook Goldfinger too. And they'd be good Goldfinger songs, so it's not like this is the worst insult ever here. Up through Open Your Eyes, there's a ton of Goldfinger I love.

Yeah he was definitely referencing Matt's skateboard injuries. It clashes with Matt's personal verse badly to those of us who know all about them.
