Another part of it is that it just feels so long and laborious, and there are some songs on there I still really enjoy, but I never end up listening to them because I don't want to play the full album

 

Awesome to see multiple people feel this way! I just remember the constant bashing the band got when it was released, so this is awesome to see!

No one is getting worked up that people disagree with them. I enjoy disagreements. I do not enjoy "lol this is just my opinion don't talk to me about it."

EXACTLY! Laborious is a perfect description - they could have cut it down a bit and it would hold up much better, for sure.

 

I didn't know we were supposed to back it up with substance lol.

I absolutely LOVE that record. It was my AOTY for 2014.

 

Moshing/stagediving/hyperaggression shouldn't really be a thing at shows anymore. Attempting to say it should be monitored or more controlled because I'm sure there are a lot of concerts where it happens safely, but it sets a weird precedent in terms of what is acceptable.

For me, it wasn't until I saw them play P.S. Shock the World live in 2013 that I decided to go back to this record, and I seriously have fallen in love with it since then; bought it on release day & it took seven years to "click." Better late than never, I guess!

 

Mentioned it before but I'll elaborate - Linkin Park have not released a bad album and st and as one of the best acts of this millennium.

 

I absolutely admit I have no idea what trap music is. But this isn't a trap music appreciation thread. It's for unpopular opinions. If someone doesn't think trap music has any substance, it seems that checks both boxes for being an opinion that is also unpopular.

here's a good recent one: somos record is the best hopeless release since TGG, and far more interesting than their debut. the electronic elements add a lot, and i think musically it's great, with interesting songs

I understand that you have taken offense to something said in here. I am not staff, I cannot help you with that. I suggest you report whatever post offended you, or at least try to settle it privately.

Having said that, many people are trying to have a good time sharing unpopular opinions. If you would like to participate in that...great, if not...please leave.

 

Second part definitely, first part - I'd easily take Golden Record and Future Hearts over it. Thanks for reminding me to relisten to the Somos record, though.

i don't like golden record at all, and future hearts has some jams but it's just not a sound i care to listen to often.
people hated on that somos record so hard that one of the members was even joking around about that when i was talking to him, heh.
