FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I feel like I'm not old enough to be offended by this since I still wasn't alive when it came out but I can't help but be annoyed that people keep referencing the Counting Crows cover instead of Joni Mitchell

  2. Not a fan. Haha. It's fine I guess, but the chorus and lyrics are week. The more throwback drumming stuff is kinda cool, and I like that they started it with a Matt/Alkaline Trio vibe. But it doesn't have the same fun catchy feeling as the stuff I like the most on California. Pretty standard b-side stuff I suppose, I'm hoping for better from the rest.

not a fan of the new song unfortunately. It sucks because "bored to death" got me so hyped for new blink but every other song was such a let down.

I wonder if putting na's in the song is a running joke at this point, other than that, I'm not sure what people are expecting at this point. The lyrics are juvenile but they are straight down the line of typical "punk" song writing that literally describes some dudes day from a to z. The music isn't bad, the guitars stand out a heck of a lot, sounds less like something resembling a band through radio polish filter. SCREAMY MATT VOCALS. As nice as it would be for them to move more in the direction of a more dark and mature sound it's way past time to face the fact that that is just not what we're getting with this album.

They literally just flipped the formula. Matt goes first on this one, not that much of a change if you ask me. I would much prefer something in the vein of Pathetic or all Matt or all Mark songs with minimal backings from the other. Like how it used to be with Tom.

First of all: the "CHICAGO!" part is awesome.

Matt's verse is good. Like the chorus aswell. Really tired of those nanana's. How cant they understand that its a bit too much at this point. I mean, it worked in all the small things, we get it.

Its a cool skatepunk song. Not sure i would give it much attention if it wasnt blink though.

I think that this song is far better than most of California. You can finally hear the Skiba influence and I think that its a positive impact on the band. The lyrics are a bit simple, and I have a personal hatred for the word suburbia when used in music, but holy shit this sounds reckless, and I love it.

We have to keep in mind that technically it's more of an extension of California than anything, and we have only heard one song from it. I'm just hoping that the next time they enter the studio to do an album, they take their time. Carefully crafted songs and no shortcuts.

I'm still surprised at the amount of people saying "we really need Tom back wah wah wah". Bringing him back won't improve shit, and when it ends up sounding like drunk Angels and Airwaves and takes 5 years to come out, these people have no right to whine like a baby.

Blink-182 is different now. Period. I know they're capable of better but at least we are getting new music. I know there will be better on the deluxe anyways.

We all just have to remember these are bonus songs. We are lucky we get to hear these songs, even if some people don't like it.

I think Parking Lot was one of the songs they had done in the first place but left off originally right? It has a No Future vibe except instead of Matt being great just on the bridge he shines longer on it. I think it would be towards the bottom of California for me if it was on the main album but probably still above No Future, California and HISALP.

I don't understand what the second verse is even about. It's like a series of bizarre non sequiturs.

So Mark starts back as a young guy with a regular job talking about getting off work to meet his friends.
Then he suddenly injures himself somehow and Matt hurts his wrist. Are we back in the present day now? Is this Skiba or a random guy called Matt from his childhood? Is he just documenting things that happened at that moment in the studio?
Then he's talking about how he climbed through a window (Matt's?!) at 3am to listen to music for some reason.

He drops a line about the "target parking lot curb" which is a reference to skateboarding. He hurts himself skating and so does Matt. There's actually a video of Skiba skating and he talks about breaking his wrist in the alk3 days

It would still literally be zero blink songs put out since the DED ep if he was still in blink so it's easy to dismiss them? There's no blink without Tom? Well you could not listen to them....? Haha
