I wished they had kept the smiley tat on the girls arm in the artwork. I've wanted to ask Mark about the reasoning why they took it off. He had posted it and then took it off about 20 mins later.

I know it's probably legal issues or whatever, but just want to know what the exact deal was about it.

I know right? This is what I wanted since the reunion in 2009, Blink functioning like a full time band

I don't know if you have discussed this, but some reddit people claim that blink representatives have given them the artwork to post on the blink reddit page (it's the same artwork that we've seen all week). If this is true, it would mean that blink are possibly preparing for a release and parking lot is actually happening.

But i don't know, i rarely check reddit but from what you guys say about the place it seems like a shithole, so maybe one should take this one with a grain of salt.

random thought this morning when I was listening to sober



remember when tom said there was gonna be a country-esque song on California? Was it Ghost on the Dancefloor or did he never give a name?

 

It was one Mark wrote about his son, I believe. Which he then scrapped. (IIRC)

It was Mark, and it was for Neighborhoods, and it was called "Not For Real", and it never made the album....and you're drunk.

 

but HISALP fits the description perfectly! it has a bit of a country twang ( not like, Pinegrove level, but it's there)

 

Mark & Matt did a track by track with NME and Mark said that HISALP was written after he had a talk with Feldy about their kids growing up and leaving home. I don't think it came from anything to do with "Not For Real" despite similar subject matter :)

 

Haha I know, I was just saying. You never know where the demos come from!

If I'm thinking about the correct song, "The Only Thing That Matters" also started sort of country-punk sounding until they tweaked it a bit.

 

The same as for Parking Lot.

 

you're both probably right, but I'm just gonna stay in my own headcanon of it being HISALP

 

Really surprising that the band is going to be releasing 4 out of the 11 songs before the album comes out, assuming Hey I'm Sorry is on the album that means 5 of those songs will be out there. I'm not complaining just figured we'd get Parking Lot and either the joke song or another one in April.

Let the hype continue.

 

Maybe you're getting confused with the album but Tom definitely said there was going to be a folky song on DED that ended up being Boxing Day. I don't remember him ever saying there was a country-esque song for Neighborhoods though.
