As for pop punk, The Offspring ruled the 90s in that genre imo.

Janelle Monae is (obviously IMO) the most important artist I've witnessed so far in my lifetime.

Wouldn't be surprising to see a new wave of pop leaning pop punkers, attempting to emulate All Time Low and their contemporaries. Hopefully they do well, I met the band at a Wonder Years show and they're very genuine and down to earth.

Was gonna say the opposite as one of my choices. I love every sloppily played, off key note of it.

    Also

-I also don't get Radiohead, don't want to either
    -Strongly dislike U2
-I don't like The Early November
-The Gaslight Anthem is just okay
-I don't like Saves The Day
    -I don't like Bleachers
-I don't like New Found Glory
-Most pop-punk have literally zero good qualities to it (Neck Deep, TSSF etc.)
-I don't like any of Ben Folds music, not sure if this is unpopular or not, but I don't like it and other people I know do (my girlfriend thinks I'm the worst person ever for it)
-I don't like The Smiths (my girlfriend also hates me for this)
    -Muse is really bad
    -Tool is just as bad
-Helter Skelter is the best Beatles song
    -The 1975 is objectively horrible
-Bon Iver bores me to death
-Any kind of progressive rock/metal is awful
    -Rush is really bad
    -Kevin Devine is just okay
-Warning by Green Day is one of their better albums
-Say Anything's self titled is almost as good as IARB
-Motion City Soundtrack should've be the pop-punk band of the 2000's instead of Fall Out Boy
-I enjoy Brian Sella's (of The Front Bottoms) voice
-It Never Goes Out is a better album than Home, Like No Place Is There
-Agree with the guy that said Alice In Chains is better than Nirvana (still like Nirvana though)
-If the score to Breaking Bad was on my iPod it may be the most listened thing on there

    *Disclaimer: I hate most music

But hey, who gives a damn about someone else's opinion?

Is this unpopular? I'd go further to say she's the most slept on, most underappreciated voice in the music industry currently.

I do not “get” anything that Kanye puts out. Period. None of it makes sense or appeals to me in the least.

Also, I think that among the current crop of relatively young pop punk bands, few if any of them are truly exceptional. Most of the bands that I typically hear praised repeatedly sound musically just as repetitive to me. Neck Deep and The Wonder Years come to mind.

Warning is the best Green Day album IMO

I mean, I guess it's more "a stretch" than "unpopular" per se, and I agree with you on that entirely.

Meg Myers is the best (or at the very least one OF) female solo artist in alternative/indie music right now and deserves more exposure.

So would it be unpopular with you if I said I'm a much bigger fan of Green Day?

I have loved both bands for 17-18 years but I'd rank The Offspring #1 and Green Day #2 haha. Smash is imo the best "pop" punk album of the 90s.

Not sure if unpopular enough but the video to "Stronger" by Kanye West is the best music video ever

GREEN DUDES BEST GREEN DAY PODCAST Prestigious

    Oh boy here we go

I love Green Day's Trilogy, I think it's some of their best work
    I love I Don't Think It Is
I think both The Used and Taking Back Sunday get better with each release
Panic Stations is my third favorite MCS record behind Memory and Dinosaur
Favorite member of blink is Tom Delonge, also I'm very happy he's doing what he wants and I've been enjoying his recent projects
Favorite Foxy Shazam record is Gonzo

Many more that I can't think of, haha

See, I only really like The Offspring's output since Americana (which I realize is itself an unpopular opinion) but Green Day has been consistently great since Dookie. Except for the trilogy, which....well, let's not go into it.

Yeah I think Americana was where the downward trend started for The Offspring lol. Smash, Ixnay On The Hombre, and Ignition are my favorites.

The 1975's last album was a snoozer. So was Adele's.

Why is Lana Del Rey a thing. No really. Please pay me to literally sigh on a track because apparently that's the key to making millions.

One Direction's last album should've never happened because "Clouds" was a perfect send off.

Super unpopular opinion: I don't like the Beatles.

People absolutely shit themselves over Father John Misty and I....don't....see the appeal......
Also The Front Bottoms. They're fun live and I appreciate that, but otherwise.....who cares..........

Meghan Trainor is a better songwriter for other people than she is for herself (see: Fifth Harmony's "Sledgehammer" versus her trainwreck of an album)

Carly Rae Jepsen is the pop darling of 2015, but Hilary Duff's album was one of the most underrated albums of the year.

Echosmith is one of the most boring bands I have ever had the misfortune to see with my own two eyes and I've seen them open for other artists three times.

Totally forgot about this one. One of my most unpopular opinions all of last year, along with not being into Hop Along.

in my opinion anyone who claims to not like The Beatles or that they were "overrated" just hasn't heard the right songs lol.
