I have one of their other albums and it's pretty brutal.

 

Funeral Chant released their debut this week. Pretty chaotic black/death. More black than death (which isn't my preference) but still good.

That's funny! I prefer the opposite and enjoy black metal more than death metal.

 

Finally picked up the newest Anaal Nathrakh album today and it fucking annihilates.

 

That's a much more accurate comparison, but even then, it's a shittier version of that.

Potential AOTY, at least for me.

That Bolt Thrower news today got me to go back and reflect, what a great band.

I honestly would put War Master up there with the extreme metal classics, this album just pummels the fuck outta you.

 

Agreed. Now I'm just listening to BT on shuffle. "Profane Creation" is a monster track.

 

Everyone should definitely check out Heaven Shall Burn that likes Bolt Thrower. There are a lot of comparisons there.

 

Wow, I didn't know they released an album last year, it totally passed me up. I've loved all of their other stuff so I'm looking forward to purchasing this one

It's very clear you REALLY like the album! Lol!

Its a great album and I am glad they found their way back to what they are great at.

 

Hahaha yeah I just think it's a great album to check out/start with for people who haven't really listened to the band before or given them a chance. It's a great demonstration for how good metal can be, and so is one I hope the whole metal community gives a shot at listening to at least once.

 

It's just great that they seem to have the ferocity back that made them so enticing in the first place. That aspect has been severely lacking for a good few albums. It's great to love these guys again, nothing has done it for me since deliver us which was a very important album in shaping my taste in heavy music when I was younger

 

If you guys haven't see Party Scars and Prison Bars, get on it.

 

I think a lot of it was the labels they were on. I am sure there was a push to try and get them into more mainstream success. They definitely have the potential.

Speaking of bands that have the potential, I need to listen to the new Within the Ruins.
