On "Wishing Well", Mark says that Tom came to them with that song already finished. "That song is all Tom." And for "Hearts All Gone", Mark couldn't decide if it was going to be a slow song or a fast song, but they ended up making it fast and making the slower version the interlude. Those tidbits are the only real interesting things I can remember at the moment.

 

I remember seeing a video of Tom playing the riff of "Wishing Well" about two years before neighborhoods came out and had said it would be either for angels or blink. I was so excited the first time I heard WW and thinking the song was gonna own based off the intro.. still one of my favorites off that album... I'm actually surprised they didn't release it as a single because I think that's the song most of my friends who are casual blink listeners enjoyed the most

What Mark said about Wishing Well being all Tom made me surprised they played it with Matt

 

Well, I remember Mark saying in some interviews that it was one of his favs off neighborhoods. Also Just watch the video for it, you see Mark is totally digging the song in the clips.

 

I prefer the Tom-heavy songs on Neighborhoods by a lot. Heart's All Gone, MH, and Gravity are my least favorite songs on the album. On the other hand, I'm a fan of This Is Home and Love Is Dangerous, unlike most it seems.

 

I love HaG, and I like MH. I like Love is dangerous too. Fighting the gravity is eh I'll listen to it once in a blue moon. This is home is literally the only Blink song I almost always skip over in their whole discography

 

I re-listened to Neighborhoods last night. Man there are some good ideas there I just wish the band decided to work with a producer on it and actually all be in the same studio at the same time for more than a week or whatever it was. It's not a surprise that all the good songs are the ones that all 3 worked on together. I think it's also pretty clear that the Mark only songs had no Tom input at all and I do think that's Mark playing the guitar tracks on Kaleidoscope, it just doesn't seem like something Tom would have came up with.

Box Car Racer is getting repressed extremely soon through Hot Topic finally.

 

Two thoughts:

1. The guy is obviously lying because he didn't say how it sounded like Goldfinger.
2. If he's not lying I'm pretty excited.

 

It seems like the band exists, but I do not see Feldmann working with a bunch of nobodies.

 

It looks like somebody did some digging and they are actually recording with him. Guess there is a post somewhere on Feldman's instagram

 

He's been working with them for months, if not longer.

I just remember reading a story about Feldmann trying to get out of recording with a small group last year. Figured he was very selective now lol

I believe it was DED, but he just needed to move their sessions to do Blink.

 

Wishing Well would have sounded great if a producer stopped it from sounding so thin.

One of the things I don't like about post reunion Tom songs is the stop start strumming he does though. Like the chorus of Wishing Well and Ghost. I think the rinky dink strum patterns are what makes people think "that sounds like AVA" because he does it so much on those songs and literally never did on blink songs. I just randomly skimmed a few AVA songs and it's the same pattern on Everything's Magic, Love like Rockets and Epic Holiday and probably about 8 others haha.
