Yup, him too! Didn't actually play though, so there's at least one "better" answer out there.

Is Edgar Davids still kicking around?

EDIT: Nope. He stopped in 2014.

Isn't Trezerguat (spelling...) still playing in India or something? Am I imagining that?

2014 as well. You were right about India though. Finished in Pune.

Is Raul still playing for Cosmos? He must have been in the Spain squad.

Raul JUST retired. Can't think of anyone else.

    Samuel Eto'o!

    Not in the German squad.

He did finish his career in India, but retired now.

A little investigating, there was four players overall. Buffon - who didn't actually play, then two you've got no chances of guessing; Lee Dong-gook with South Korea and Shinji Ono with Japan.

One left who everybody here has heard of.

Where the hell is Eto'o these days? Is he still the highest earner in football somewhere up in Russia?

I've been looking at World Cup squads... Donovan Ricketts was on Jamaica's roster that year. So two goalkeepers who bench rode the whole tournament.

Playing in Antalyaspor in Turkey. Doing pretty well, too! 17 goals in 25 matches.

Looking through the 94 squads, looks like Friedel was the last to officially retire in 2015, although he hadn't played a game since 2013.

The last "proper" active player would either be Colombia's Faryd Mondragón who was active in 2014. Orrrr, if you wanted to be a bit cheeky with the rules, it could even be Edwin Van Der Saar who came out of retirement for one game this year for VV Noordwijk.

Reminds me of Sven's best friend Darius Vassell, who retired in 2015. He last played in 2011.

Sounds like Nagbe might be seriously injured. Add him to the list of De Jong's victims. If he misses Copa America, I'll be sick. Fuck Nigel De Jong.

Missed some Scottish football chat from a while back.

Pochettino should stay with Spurs and so should most of the players and see what they do next season. Buzzin for Leicester though, Ranieri shedding a tear was lovely.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

I think Poch just signed an extension recently. I remember reading somewhere about some potential behind the scenes tifs between Woodward and the old boys of United. Some want Mourinho, others want Giggs and there's a back and forth on it. I think Hughes would be good. I'm high of Koeman. He's fantastic, surprised there is not more chatter about him.

Hughes is a mid table manager. There's no shame in that, he's better than most managers, but he's also nowhere near as good as Moyes was prior to taking the United job, and we know how that ended up.

He did well with Wales, Blackburn and now Stoke, but he also failed at QPR and Fulham, and was mediocre at best at Man City.

He's achieved nothing in his 15 year career that suggests he's a potential elite manager in the making, just mild overachiement at best.

Now, the Timbers are saying they're "cautiously optimistic" about Nagbe's injury. There's no break, but ligament damage is still possible. Regardless, De Jong should be banned at least three games.

That picture makes it look far more intentional than real time video makes it look, tbh. It's definitely a card foul, but I highly doubt it was intentionally that dirty.

    Fuck Nigel De Jong.

    Twenty. Five. Million. Pounds.

The new Beşiktaş stadium looks awesome.

And because you guys were talking about World Cups, now I have Wavin' Flag stuck in my head... which isn't a bad thing as it's an incredible song.

    @BadMLSComics

    Disagree @Garrett L.

He just doesn't know how to fucking tackle. To me, if he doesn't see how tackling like that is wrong, especially with a player like De Jong where he has had countless shit tackles like this, then every time he goes out on the field and tackles like that, he's doing it with the intention to hurt someone. It's a fucking joke and he's always claiming he's remorseful for them, but he refuses to change. He needs to go, end of story.

For those who haven't seen it.

The only reason I don't think it's nearly as intentional as the rest of you is in this video you can see his foot roll across the top of the ball before making contact (it zooms in a couple replays in). He had almost made a perfectly legally tackle. Do I think he's done some really shitty tackles in the past? Absolutely. And because of that, this one is being hyped for more than it should be. It's really unfortunate for Nagbe, too. Not gonna deny it.

Idk. He lets it roll right underneath him...he isn't really playing the ball.

He's not out trying to injure people, his aggression just gets the best of him, and he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore. It was entirely avoidable and unnecessary.
