It has just dawned upon me that this band hasn't released an album for 8 years, which is the same amount of time as the Your Favorite Weapon release through the Daisy release, give or take a couple of months.

Huh.

 

Something crazy I realized a couple months ago; The Beatles released every single album in their career within the same window of time that has passed since Daisy was released.

Even Glassjaw released those 2 EPs a few years ago and still no Brand New album
Imagine Tool releasing an album before them...

 

They should have released almost everything they've worked on. Maybe they will. But they've done enough to be prolific.

Way to in their own heads around the art they've made. IE the demos of finished would have been a perfectly fine album.

If the demos were released and also TDAG I'd have three albums by this band tied for my favorite so I wouldn't be mad at all

 

If the demos were released before TDAG, we might not have ever gotten the TDAG version of Sowing Season, and I don't know how I feel about that

I mean. We would have. They're demos. Not the finished product. We would've gotten finished sowing season if they went ahead, different tracks in place of archers, SS, and Luca if dag came after. Or we'd have gotten a sick double album maybe

no we would have gotten one record not sure what it would have sounded like but it wouldn't have been devil and god and then who knows what happens... my guess is they would have scratched some
Of those demo songs anyway haha anyway we almost got the entire thing thought out with the ep this year, the new nobody moves, the tracks that were finished on tag, only Goodman wasn't redone and it's probably perfect on the rerelease demos anyway

 

I meant like a dag equivalent before Daisy, an LP in between the demos and Daisy. But yeah I mean i agree some of those songs were gonna get scrapped anyway. As stylistically diverse as their discography is as a whole, their albums are still cohesive and not just a collection of songs.

 

This band needs to die so badly. Either they have a record done or they don't, teasing fans for so fucking long is pathetic and I don't support them. RIP Brand Old

 

Have they actively teased anything? I've always thought it was the fans' assumptions. I mean, if we take everything literally, the new singles are just singles and "rip brand new 2018" only says that the band will be gone next year. Nothing about new music.

Everything that has been teased has been delivered. See the Leaked Demos 2006. It's our own expectations that's mystifying the band. They haven't teased anything for about a year now, I think.

They had a post on their website in 2014 that they were in the studio haha.

 

Afterwards, we got Mene, I Am A Nightmare, Out of Range*, Leaked Demos 2006, and 3 Demos Reworked. Could've been all they've done. Unless they explicitly said an album, I guess.

Not sure if OoR was just the rerelease of the one floating on the internet or if they did anything more with it production wise.

 

They don't owe you a damn thing.

 

They've made stuff but if they don't think it's good enough do you want it?? My guess is they will try one more time and if it isn't good enough call it a day and stop being a band

 

They don't owe fans anything. Their art is theirs.
But they also don't deserve $100 for 2 tickets to the same show they've been putting on for the last 8 years.

I want to support you and your families. Put anything out and never release a newsletter talking about your future until you have some idea around what that is. That seems like a fair trade off
