I found my old special edition of Artist with the notes by each band member on every track. So I've got the notes for Artist, Vheissu, and Beggars. Did they do that for Alchemy and Major/minor?

They did it for TAI. I have those if you're interested. I know you hooked me up with Vheissu last year and that was a very cool read. Would love to read the notes on Beggars and Artist if you're up for it

I feel the same way about Image of the Inivisble on Vheissu. It doesn't fit with the rest of the album and, hontestly, feels like a b-side remnant of TAITA. I wish they would have opened the album with The Earth Will Shake.

Guess the guys are playing a festival with Korn, Breaking Benjamin, and Alter Bridge in May. Imminent metal butt rock record coming soon too.

    jk, or am I?

I think they are moving more towards mainstream rock, they have families to support and if they can make enough money to give them a good life you can't blame them for that. We all know how talented they are and if the mainstream record is done well than I won't care

Nothing wrong with KoRn! I'll be at that show.

I've never read the Artist and M/M notes, but I have Vheissu, TAI and Beggars from their vinyl though.

Like Moths to Flame would make a pretty good opening too.

I see what you mean - I like it as opener but it doesn't rly fit so well there. I haven't listened to it in so long I can't say if I agree about the earth will shake or not haha

I love Thrice, but if they're just sticking around to make butt-rock records to make money they should have stayed broken up. I think they're better than that though.

If RIley gets what he wants, it will be heavy.
Not sure how much pull the bros Breckenridge have tho.

All four members write pieces of music for the band. It's not like some bands where there is a principal writer and everyone else is along for the ride.

Yes, Dustin handles lyrics, but I think the Water sound in Thrice music originates from Riley.if he wants some heavy songs then he'll bring some heavy music to me he table. Thrice has variety and range. Some heavy songs or parts would be cool. I just want their next record to good, which they always are.

Eddie is the one who wanted to go full bore heavy.

I don't see them moving towards straight up radio rock. They can make huge anthemic songs like Hurricane, Blood on the Sand, Black Honey and Stay With Me without losing the Thrice sound.

Agreed. I think it more has to do with how well TBEITBN did with mainstream fans who may never have heard the name thrice before like the band said. They might be taking these opportunities for people that have never heard of them before and want to see them

I don't know, since the brothers were the 2 that wanted to keep it going and Teppei and Dustin were the ones who they had to get back, I'd feel like they have a little bit more pull. Maybe them pushing for heavier songs isn't worth the fight and driving the band apart if half the band doesn't want to play that anymore.

For sure, they can still write more straight forward rock songs that appeal to radio and not lose the quality that we all love.

To anyone that has been to one of the Dustin/Andy shows, do they play individual sets or do they do stuff together or both?

If I'm only interested in seeing Dustin, when do I need to get there? Will he play last?

Why are you only interested in seeing Dustin? Andy Hull's solo stuff is pretty amazing as well. Anyways, pretty sure they play individual sets.

I'm just not really familiar with Andy or Manchester. I wouldn't mind seeing Andy, but I'm trying to go to another concert the same night as well and I'm just trying to schedule everything.
