I know what I'd name a son or daughter if I had another but I currently have no plans for another

I'm happy with just my boys and they're already getting another sibling through their mom anyway

It's interesting to see every year which kids names are popular. I am also a terrible person and often burst the bubble of ppl who brag about their kid's unique name cause I'm like "oh we have like 4 of them this year lol"


I'd name a boy either Jonny after my fave musician, or Nico cause I did a presentation on the Velvet Underground and Nico as a freshman in hs and liked the name. I like Amaia for a girl. There was an Amaia in my novela and I loved it immediately but then she turned out to be a nazi but we're gonna ignore that part cause it wasn't revealed like until the last ep. I also like Cátia but wouldn't want ppl to call them cat.

wow I am now realizing how badly I researched that high school project!! But Nico is also the name of the taco truck here so it has taken on new meaning for me!!! And tbf I wouldn't name my kid that because I liked that novela character cause lbr even before she was revealed to be a nazi she was basic afffffff and I never trusted her!

 

I feel like naming a child after a taco truck is the most noble thing you can do for a child, it's the ultimate way to tell your child "You bring me so much joy" since nothing reflects joy quite like tacos from a taco truck

 

My boss was also jokingly trying to hook me up with taco truck Nico yesterday so maybe I can just get on board with that and then say the name is passed down lol

I find it interesting how as silly as I think gender norms/roles are with fictional future kids my concept of them is very gendered but like I would try not to enforce anything on them idk it doesn't quite make sense

 

I think it makes sense, because it's not like when a baby is born you can just not give it a name and be like "We'll wait till the baby decides how it feels" since the name has to be set pretty much right at birth.

But that does bring up an interesting question:

If babies didn't have to be named right after they were born, and upon growing older got to pick their old name, what would the name they pick be?

(to the thread) What would yours have been if you got to pick your name at like 2-3 years old?

 

Mine would've been like Garfield Subaru because at 3 I loved Garfield and thought the word Subaru sounded funny

omg ngl personalizationmall.com is my jam cause now I can have my name on ALL THE THINGS. But it sucks when I want my name on a tacky tourist trinket and can't! I also tried her cafe tactic and used my middle name Marie, and they called me Manny lol so I just took the loss on that one and make them deal with Kiana.

 

JGJ is a good acronym for a name. I always wanted to be a person who could pull off the first and middle initial + last name but D.A. Gibson just makes me sound like im a defense attorney and it's not cool like TW Walsh or JK Rowling or whatever

i have the most common name of all time its spelt dumb AF. K-A-I-T-I-E....the extra "I" aint necessary why'd you do this to me, mom? i have friends that call me Ka-eye-tee just to get on my nerves.


anyways, i saw my ex yesterday to get my bike back and YEEESH did he look rough. barely could recognize him. okay we slept together, my bad, but also seeing him made me realize how much i made excuses for him into think he was a good person. he just isnt. he cheated me on 5-7 times and he has no idea why. the reality of life is hitting him hard. he got fired from his job over some drama, he's been drinking badly...im worried and i would never want someone to head down the wrong path...but also fuck you. deal with the mess you made out of your life bitch. crazy to date someone for 7.5 years and then see him like i do now, what a change. maybe i was just blind idk, man, idk.
