reading the lists, i realized i forgot snake charmer existed. that's a pretty good song, sounds like it came straight out of 2003. it has an untitled/box car racer vibe to it.

  2. The chorus feels like BCR for sure. The bridge is my favorite moment on Neighborhoods.

That's because it rips All Systems Go, haha. But I did always love The Cure feel that Snake Charmer has

The Truth Barrel with Gabrielle Reece and Neil Strauss by PodcastOne on iTunes

    Blink-182 Frontman, Matt Skiba

Grammy-nominated guitarist and vocalist for Blink-182 and Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba, joins Neil and Gabby in The Truth Barrel to discuss his career, his relationships, and the life philosophy that has led to his success. It's not what you'd expect. In this powerful interview, he discusses facing the disappointment of his father when he decided to become a musician, the exact moment he quit drugs and alcohol, the surprising reason he asked a bandmate to leave the group, and what it was like to take over as frontman for one of the biggest bands of its genre. Along the way, you'll learn Matt's secret for staying positive, connected, and powerful - and the difference between a nice person and a good person. Hint: A good person isn't always nice.

Does he sound like he wants to be there? (Sorry I had to)

  10. He's a deep guy and a stand up dude. I really loved the bit on how he refuses to play music with shitty people.

I'm about half way done, my biggest take away is that acid will help you with your Algebra in high school. Seriously Matt sounds super interesting, really glad I've been listening so far. I hope he's given the opportunity to talk more during press stuff for blink moving forward.

Also sounds like Matt Skiba and the Sekreets are done at least for now.

I still need to listen, but I hope Skiba and the Sekrets aren't done. His last release was great. Although, I really want a new Alkaline Trio album before anything.

He didn't mention Sekrets by name but the hosts kind of made a joke about how he was in 3 bands and he said he's just in 2 and named blink and Alkaline Trio and said he doesn't have time for any others right now.

I agree I loved both Sekrets albums but I'd rather have new music from blink and Trio before another Sekret album.

Something I've been thinking about whilst spinning Enema these last few days - are there any Tom songs you'd love to here a Mark version of, and vice versa?

Crossed my mind when listening to Wendy Clear.

Damn everything he said about his relationship with his father is exactly what I've been going through for years. I became a lawyer and hated it and stopped and my pops pretty much cut me off, but still tells people that his son's a lawyer. Does this mean my creative career will soon take off and I'll eventually be the third guitarist for Blink??

But seriously ever since Matt joined Blink and he's done more press I've been loving this guy more and more. Such a nice and down to earth guy. Really fits in well with Travis and Mark's dispositions.

I used to always try to imagine each song if sung by the other one as a kid. I can't remember if any stuck out. But was a pasttime

Just finished the Podcast, really is a must listen. The discussion about blink and Trio at the end was really interesting. It certainly doesn't sound like Matt wants to leave or stop being in Alkaline Trio but you can tell it's a sensitive subject with all 3 members.

I remember listening to Enema on my Discman back in the day and if I pulled the headphone jack out a little bit you could only hear one half of the recording before they mixed it. Sometimes it turned out you would hear just Mark or just Tom singing background on the song. Always thought that was pretty cool.
