Is there suppose to be an announcement of some sort today or just wishful thinking?

It would be interesting if one of the songs was Mark looking back on some of the stupid things Blink wrote like "I need a girl that I can train."

 

That, would be really cool if he referenced a lyric word-for-word.

Like a nod to the past. A one liner lyric from TOYPAJ or Enema. "Turns out I found a girl I can train".

I know it's not the best example, but Bring Me the Horizon did this on their most recent album. Their song "Throne" referenced a song on their previous album titled "To the Wolves" (I think is the title). It was done pretty well.

 

They opened with Dumpweed for a better part of the reunion phase, so I am not sure how critical they are seeing this line..

 

When Neighborhoods came out, I was hoping for a nod to "I guess this is growing up"

 

I guess that's fair. I'm not saying i'm looking for an apology song or anything like that, more so just think it would be interesting to hear a "we wrote some really stupid shit because we were young and dumb and i guess this is growing up" kinda thing to it. Yes, i stuck the Damnit line in there just for the hell of it.

 

Considering maturity and growth will be a theme on this album, think it's fair to expect a track titled "cumming of age"

 

People breaking down the lyrics to WMAA was fun to watch. At the same time, the guy with the Neck Deep shirt gets so psyched when he recognizes the lyrics, but still has a hard time remembering the title and the name of the band.

 

haha would really love to see ten or fifteen more blink songs critically analyzed like this. feel like WMAA was kind of a safe pick
