Just got back from my bday trip to San Diego. Mentally exhausted from being around people for 3 days straight but other than that it was fun. Retreating back to my online haven.

 

I don't really like one side of my family and honestly I could not invite them and not care but the headache my mom would give me about it... would it even be worth it? I should slowly start burning bridges now in a preemptive strike so they won't want to come anyway.

In unrelated thoughts, I wonder how my neighbors feel about me dancing in my kitchen as I cook every night. I really need more curtains in my house. I don't like being watched....

 

First dance for me was When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss.

She walked down the aisle to an instrumental of Erase by Copeland that Aaron Marsh sent me. 1 year anniversary is tomorrow. Time flies.

We also timed everything so when we were announced as a couple after the ceremony we'd leave right when the drums hit. Was perfect imo

 

Saw Underoath tonight, they killed it as expected. True highlight for me was Caspian, what a great band. I was in awe the whole time, loved it. So many strobe lights.

Worked 6a-12p then 5p-still(3am currently). So, 16 hours so far. Not even that tired.

 

Ooh, I want to get in on the marriage talk! I've been at a Pathfinder session most of the day, so I've been lurking. I want to get married, but I don't want like a super huge ceremony. My cousins have gotten married, though, or are going to get married, so by the time it's my turn people hopefully won't care as much about having a big event. I don't know how I feel about combining assets. I definitely wouldn't mind if my future-wife decided to keep her last name. I haven't really thought about which songs we'd play during the ceremony or reception, I think those would ideally be picked out of our shared experiences and hold meaning for us. My cousin performed songs for his bride, but he can actually sing and I think I might be tone-deaf, sooo.

edit: and for kids, I'd want two. I'd have one of my own, then adopt the other to make sure I'd have a boy and a girl.

I just showed up for work and not only do I still not have a headset to do my job but I'm also locked out of the system for some reason and it's 3am so naturally no one's here to unlock this and get me settled in, and also can't view where my actual break/lunch schedule is because no one's here to show me how to do that. This is going well.

 

Everything you have mentioned about this job lets me know these people know 0 about running a business. It's been going on long enough. I would go to someone higher than this clown you're dealing with right now. Who the fuck doesn't have their employees stuff ready for their shift? It makes absolutely no sense.

 

It really doesn't. I'm so torn on how I feel about it, like, on one hand I just hate how this is being run and want out, especially when I've been flipping my life around so much for this job. On the other hand, I see very vulnerable positions run by incompetent people where I can be set for life if I'm good enough to replace them. I guess it comes down to, at what point is it not worth it? And it feels very very close to that point, if not already there.

I can't do anything for another 3 hours so this will be a very, very slow day haha.

 

Ooh and to top it off there's 3 calls waiting for this side of the company and 3 other people here to take them, all people being on break except me, who can't log in to help these 3 people. If this bites me in the ass today I will certainly leave, haha.

 

The dude who closes on Sunday nights always does an awful job. It makes Monday mornings a real pain.

Yesterday I posted a selfie and a picture of an alien playing bass with the caption "anyway here's wonderwall" on Facebook and the difference in likes they each got really did a number on my self-esteem.

 

No one on my team wants to do any work today. Such a typical Monday.

 

I found that my identity and the lowest common denominator for easiest ways to get Likes on FB are sometimes, but not always, at odds. For instance, pictures of you as a child are basically guaranteed to get 5x the likes you'd normally get, bc apparently everyone likes you better when you're a drooling toddler

 

I don't know exactly what it is about Facebook, but it mainly just bums me out these days haha. Can't wait to deactivate it.

 

I like that the most likes I tend to see are from posts about being in a relationship and things like that. Like, people just see "[so-and-so] is in a relationship with [so-and-so]" and just have a Pavlovian response, even if they only know the one person. What if that's an unhealthy relationship you're affirming?

I probably mostly feel that way because I get so much crap for having not dated for about 6 years, lol, like that means I'm broken or something. When I do end up dating someone and become "Facebook official," I'll probably post some bitter Facebook status going on a tirade about how dumb that nonsense is.

 

I'm in. I mean I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever but I'm not straight.

 

I hope I get free tickets for the first show.
