Tellin' Lies, Lookers, Charlie's Army, The Bars and After The Party are my top jams.

Can't wait to see them twice next week

On The Impossible Past is a top 10 all time for me as it probably is for a lot of people around here

Whoever mentioned that Charlie's Army made them think of Charlie Kelly and an army of rats, well that could be a fantastic music video. Julie is the waitress, Charlie and the Sunny gang + rats try to take down Greg.

This album would have been pretty damn perfect if they cut out House on fire, black mass, and (possibly) Boy Blue. That section divides the album into two halves and makes it feel less cohesive, IMO.

Also, I wish the last chorus in Your Wild Years, either sped up or was delivered with more inflection. And 'living ain't easy' is great but shouldn't be the closer. The closer should be The Bars, or After the Party.

Minor things, thanks for one hell of an album menzingers! Definitely some top tier songs to go with an already incredible catalogue.

All three of those songs are so good, I can't even fathom cutting them

  12. Album is just phenomenal. How much discussion has been had in here about the number of Tom songs on this one? 4 total, right? Did the band ever address why he has fewer songs on this one?

All I saw in interviews was that it just worked out that way. My theory is that Tom has just gotten more interested in the music writing side of things and Greg seems to be really embracing the lyrical side of it. When I talked to Tom on the Bayside tour he was talking about writing music quite a bit.

I'm going to Detroit! I would probably have went to Pittsburgh instead, but my girlfriend loves Creeper and they're playing here the same day.

Magic Stick in Detroit is one of my favorite venues ever though and seeing them in HOB, where it's going to sound great and look great and then seeing them in a dingy venue with no barricade the next day will be a ton of fun

Five by my count -- Thick as Thieves, Charlie's Army, House on Fire, Boy Blue, The Bars.
Seems about on par with their other records. I generally like Greg's songs better but Tom's songs provide a lot of energy to balance out Greg's more story-driven tracks on this new one.

There's something about the "drinking like they do in novels" lyric that I don't understand why I love it, but I do. So simple. Great imagery.

Wow I honestly had no clue. His voice sounds way deeper in that one to me, more of a shouty style like Tom. Maybe it's just me.

I totally thought, by title alone, Charlie's army would be a Tom song

I am pretty indifferent to Creeper. Like some songs, but some are just whatever. I'm leaning towards hitting the first three nights of this tour and managing through work. Catch up on rest and sleep over the weekend.

Tom is great. Greg is even better.
Honestly I never paid attention to which tracks were Greg or Tom until well after Rented World came out. At that point I worked out who sang what and it just so happened that basically all my favourite tracks are Greg.
I've lost confidence in knowing what for sure is a Tom song since mistaking Charlie's Army but assuming this IS a Tom song...
