We all make mistakes.

 

Not sure if there's any shame in this but I first heard JEW because Sweetness was on the NHL 2003 soundtrack.

I remember checking Bleed American and being blown away. It was easily one of best albums to get mainstream radio play in those years

 

TDAG and Daisy are easily better than any Thrice release.

 

I love both of them, but from a instrument, vocal and creative stand point I don't see it.

Nothing Thrice has done has hit me on any sort of emotional level, and I don't love Dustin's voice. Shrug.

I don't think Brand New is a bad band. They just bore me. I'm sure people would say the same for most of my favorite artists too.

I think they're one of those bands that you fall in love with as you're growing up and if you didn't hear them then, it's hard to jump on the train

Sink, Vices, Gasoline, You Stole and Bought a Bride are all songs you should check out from BN!

 

Hmmm.. "You Won't Know" is a pretty cool song too

 

Yeeee. I saw them open with it and that opening guitar is errie and awesome to come out on stage to. I've seen videos of them ending with it and they do a crazy jam session after and that's cool too.

 

Lots of ap hype bands are like this. Not that it's impossible to get into some of them later on but I do wonder how much I'd love my favorites today if I didn't grow up with them, and there are certain ap bands that I missed the train on that I look at today confused as hell as to why they're so popular (looking at you acceptance)

 

Of all the punk bands I liked growing up. I'm still astounded that New Found Glory blew up as big as they did and that they influenced a whole new wave of bands. I would've never have pegged them for that when they released their S/T album back in the day.

 

Not sure why I'm even surprised that this thread devolved into a JEW vs Thrice thread but here I am surprised

Very true. I was always super confused about why people were soooo hyped on Deja, since I first heard it nine years after it came out and it never clicked with me. I did catch onto TDAG later though, I think that one's just a great album

 

i am going to listen to The Mezingers for the first time and I'm afraid to say it in the album thread
