Just came across a new artist while watching videos of Mitski performances haha. Michelle Zauner's solo project is called Japanese Breakfast. She's Korean, though, lol. She was originally in a band called Little Big League.

Apparently she and Jay Som (Melina Duterte, also Asian) toured with Mitski last year whoa omg I have so much catching up to do I haven't even gone through all of Mitski's and Thao's albums yet ugh so exciting

 

Japanese Breakfast are dope. Psycopomp was top 5 of last year.

Psychopomp was a huge record. I believe the followup is coming out this year.

 

bummed i missed out on that tour. Jay Som called it the "Women Who Wok" tour, haha.

tour was so fucking great. best i'd seen mitski yet

 

by the time i had found out about the tour and saw they were coming to BOTH it was sold out already

 

Psychopomp is great. It's a good listen for when you have 25 minutes.

edit: I just listened to Mitski's "I Don't Smoke" for 25 minutes.

 

I just heard Xenia Rubinos for the first time and I'm pretty sure it was a life changing experience

 

I see MUNA posted about a lot on this site, but not really in this context. They're another good LGBTQ+ voice.

 

Julien Baker is amazing.

 

I see they were mentioned earlier but just wanna emphasize that Aye Nako is dope as fuck. Silver Haze is a real good album.

I accidentally saw Scissor Sisters live and it was incredible

 

I used to see a live show on TV every day some summers ago. They were so joyous and energetic. Plus they always remind me of Just Dance so it's time to finally check them out. Swerlk is a banger !
