not on youtube but the bird song in this show is incredible and has some of bob's best playing i've heard

Grateful Dead Live at Nassau Coliseum on 1973-09-07 : Free Streaming : Internet Archive

and this from 9/11/73, that historic day, is really great. weather report with martin fierre on horns. kinda haunting with history in mind

Grateful Dead Live at William and Mary College Hall on 1973-09-11 : Free Streaming : Internet Archive

"Winter rain, now tell me why, Summers fade, and roses die.
The answer came; the wind and rain.
Golden hills, now veiled in grey, Summer leaves have blown away
Now what remains? The wind and rain."

I still remember the day Jerry died, I was pretty young but I remember being in the car with my Mom listening to the radio and she just started crying and I was like "Whoa, what just happened?" (you know how kids are seeing their parents cry lol) - was them announcing he had passed away.

  6. Man I wasn't even born. But the stories I've heard are crazy, anybody who'd ever enjoyed a show really felt it that day

Yeah my Mom is a child of that age and just always took music & art so deeply and personally (probably cus she's one herself) she cried when MJ, Bowie, etc died too. Jerry was her biggest fan loss blow though for sure.
But yeah she was really hurt, I remember her calling my Aunt that day to talk it out. Needed each other's support cus they loved them that much.

  8. Lessons from Jerry's death:
    Don't do heroin
If you're trying to recover from a heroin addiction, dont hire someone with a jones to play keys in your band
If you are a member of said band, don't let your de facto ideology of non confrontation, no matter how entrenched, prevent you from speaking out against hiring an addict that will enable your recovering friend

  9. i still dont think phil should sing these tender jerry songs but whatever i don't blame him. Holly Bowling fucking kills this vid and better become more well known in the "scene" whatever it actually is

  10. iCarly Rae Jepsen

    run away with me Platinum

  11. nothing like a nice matrix for a snow day

  12. Drewski

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Which show are you listening to?

I always struggle with AUD vs. SBD when it comes to Phish, I wish everything/everywhere was just a matrix mix haha.

  13. i bounced around the behemoth of 8/6/74 and then settled on DP12. I woke up with '74 in my head

"Jam [2]" on DP12 which is sometimes called a MLB jam is one of the best things they ever played, the intro to TOO>spanish jam is also an all timer

We saw Jerry Garcia at the Worcester Centrum. I had to google the time - around 91 or 93. The stuff outside to buy was super. The people and the crowd, just amazing. So friendly.... the stacks of tickets people had from previvous shows was insane....

The show? Terrific. Plain and simple.

  18. What are some of your favorite (like 2-3 haha don't go crazy on me) JGB sets that can be easily found online? My appreciation for live Dead has continued to blossom in the last year but I haven't strayed into side projects at all.

  19. My fav JGB is def the Cats Under the Stars stuff so anything from that tour...3/22/78 is on spotify. I also really like the one they released as "Don't Let Go" from 76. Post-80ish I kinda fall of JGB...they started doing Tangled Up In Blue for like 30 minutes which isnt my thing. But yeah those are my recs they're both on spotify

  20. Awesome I'll start there thanks

  22. Protip: the best SBDs are always Charlie Miller (or Betty) and the best matrices are always Hunter Seamons
