I went to look this up because I thought he played bass on Sonny for some reason but while doing research I found out that Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano did back up vocals for Forget My Name. Never knew that.

 

Yeah I remember when I found that out it blew my mind. You can totally tell it's them once you know, but it's subtle enough to miss if you don't.

 

This isn't him "featured" on a band's song, but I totally forgot he did this song with Pete Went years back for Alice in Wonderland.

 

I love that Almost Alice song. That was a great soundtrack.

 

Seems strange that they are using clips from the Neighbourhoods era and that Matt isn't shown at all.

 

They're just bad publicity people I guess, just bad like all those reviewers that claimed that Matt was only harmonizing vocals on California and what not

 

Yeah I thought it was weird that they didn't show Matt in the promo so I rewatched it and it's definitely from the Neighborhoods tour, as you can see Tom a few times in the background.

Maybe they didn't have any shots from the California tour?

 

They could have easily cut shots of Matt in there from the live sohm video though. It's not like that instagram video is spectacularly edited anyway. Kinda lazy.

Mark was also featured in 2 or 3 City Comma State songs, including "Laughter is the Best Medicine"

 

I am in that weird minority camp who likes Neighborhoods A LOT and was let down by California. I didn't hate or even dislike California, but my expectations were just so high. I am still really excited for the new... err... deluxe album, though. :)

 

Whoever put it together was probably just lazy. Not going anywhere near Reddit where the Tombots are probably hyperventilating. Tom isn't back lol

That's cool. I figured the cover would be the same as California but a black background instead ala Neighborhoods regular album vs. Deluxe. I'm sure D-Face or whoever did the artwork for the cover will be doing this one too.
