I am never going to get sick of watching Marcus Smart make winning plays.

 

And okafor is coming off a rookie season where he averaged 17 points a game, I think it's a bit early to abandon ship.

 

I said the last 2 seasons I thought Spurs would beat GSW in a playoff series but unfortunately the teams haven't even matched up yet in playoffs. It's crazy to think that the Spurs won, what 68 games last season and no one talked about them at all.

As a Cavs fan, I'm more scared of Spurs than Warriors.

 

He frustrates the hell out of me. He is capable of making these incredible plays and making such an impact on a game, or he can go 1-9 from 3 in a quarter.

 

I mean, he's not really a shooter. But he's shooting 40%-ish on corner 3s, has really developed a post game, and has started being a terrific point guard. Plus he's always team-first, so he'll never hesitate to chuck the shot-clock-running-out three or hoist it from half court at the end of the quarter, 'cause fuck a shooting percentage. And even if all he does is pass, make 8 points in the paint and hit a three every game, I'll take it given what he does on defense and in the hustle plays.

 

See! The last thing you mentioned is exactly what I want. I don't need him to score when Isaiah is averaging 20493 points per game or whatever. I'm way more interested in the defense and the hustle plays and him being able to D up a power forward for a quarter out of nowhere. That's the Smart I love. I'd rather him just score 8 points and do all that stuff.

To be fair, we're without Crowder and Bradley, so I can't fault him for trying to score more. Especially after last game. But yeah generally I like him as a second-unit playmaker and defensive beast.

 

He's having a great road trip. Brown is growing on me a lot too. Hell, I really just love this team. Minus Kelly. I could be done with Kelly Olynk forever.

 

Oh come on he's been improving. Especially lately. He's actually finding ways to score that aren't camping at the 3 point line. Every time he head-fakes a big guy, blows by him to the basket and lays it down to someone at 7' tall, I lose it.

But he's a defensive turnstile.

And yeah Brown is really gonna be something. We knew he could get to the basket and be athletic, but the shooting and rebounding is really encouraging.

 

I know it's irrational and he's really not hurting them, I just reaaaaally hate his game. I just can't stand him and I can't really explain why haha.

 

I just hate that he looks like a giant orangutan caveman and my girlfriend thinks he's handsome. Haha

 

Haha he reminds me so much of a tall Clay Bucholz.

 

I've never seen more calls in 2 1/2 quarters of basketball where nobody made any contact. For both sides.

I know it's only a 10-day situation, but I hope Cleveland signs Williams for the rest of the season. An athletic 6'8 wing at 25 is hard to acquire in their situation. It's a subtle move in the NBA landscape, but it's a pretty big get for Cleveland. Hope they at least do a second 10-day to get a longer look.

Zachary Lowe tweeted that he highly doubts they're done yet though, which makes me nervous. Right now I love this though, plumlee wasn't worth $$$ and getting a late 1st with a decent young big man. I'm guessing they'll deal crabbe, then again they might pull off some huge huzzah so idk

 

Great trade for Portland. Two useful assets and shedding salary/term. Touché Portland.

 

Last year the Cavs signed McRae to a 10-day then a 2 year contract. Williams is 15x more valuable than McRae.

 

Odd trade for Denver

 

Eh, nurkic sucks. At least they got something that makes them better. They have like no big contracts so they can offer someone more than they deserve.
