Definitely thought this was a great pilot. Glad I've convinced myself to review it each week hah.

  2. Does anyone know the name of the song played during the scene where David shoots the pen into the guy's face and flips the table over, right before being gassed?

Are any of the mutants at the end of the episode from the comics? I feel like my lack of X-Men knowledge is going to constantly be on my mind throughout the season haha

I'm doing the opposite, watching this with zero thought or knowledge of the X-men universe, going to enjoy it as a standalone show and see how it goes

So apparently the numbers for the premiere weren't great. Did worse than Taboo's premiere, even though it was promoted WAY more than Taboo.

Why was there any doubt this would be great? Fargo is amazing, I have complete faith in Noah Hawley's talents.

spoiler tagging because this is how Legion works in the comics. It may not necessarily be how things go on the show.

Legion's whole thing is that he has mutant personalities in his head that have all different powers. They may or may not be people that have existed at some point. He has a hard time suppressing those personalities/powers and it tends to get a bit heavy at times.

So this is pretty cool, but besides using the word mutants I don't see any connection to any of the movies or the X-men in general. That's fine, just gotta go into the series knowing its stand alone completely.

I guess the only thing I didn't like is how much they made Syd look like Harley from Suicide Squad

They did? I didn't see that at all

  13. I didn't see her that way either

I don't know I guess i got the same vibe from her facial features and double side pony tails, even if obviously they didn't put her in the same costumes.

Honestly thought Harley the whole episode. She just looks a lot like Margot.

Now that you mention it, yeah. The mental institution thing they have going on helps too.

I also thought she looked like Margot, not specifically Harley. I didn't recognize her from Fargo at all

I've seen more than one blonde girl with ponytails in my life, so I wasn't thinking Harley at all

Finally watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though the only actual comic book character in this is Legion himself, this really does feel like an X-Men series in its own way. The visual style was excellent. Also, Aubrey Plaza getting to be completely weird is awesome, lol; even though she's dead, I hope she keeps showing up.

I loved seeing "created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz" in the credits. I keep forgetting that his first appearance was in that New Mutants run.

Just watched the pilot. To be honest I didn't even know this was a comic book adaptation, and still didn't know until I saw the Marvel logo at the end. I enjoyed it a lot, it was very well-shot and trippy, which I like a lot. I love Aubrey Plaza and was very sad when I thought she was only going to be in the first episode, so I was super glad when she showed up again and then again in the previews for upcoming episodes.

However, from the trailers and ads I thought the asylum was going to be a major part of the show, and it was honestly the part I was most intrigued by, so I'm a little disappointed that the show is seemingly going in a more comic-booky direction.

Will definitely keep watching. Sorry if this makes no sense, it's 5:40 in the morning
