No, I don't mind religious lyrics. I like a lot of bands from the religious "scene" and grew up in a very religious home. I just find these particular religious lyrics to be incredibly cringey. Like, shitty youth group band level cringe (aka the self titled relient k album. Haha). I also think it sounds really off musically, and the melody kind of makes an off song even more off.

 

Understandable, while it's not a favorite on the album I still enjoy it enough, I've never been TOO huge on lyrics so those don't bother me (and I had enough youth group in my life to be immune to that stuff haha), but overall the song is kinda harmless to me, doesn't hurt the album in my opinion

Possible Valentine's songs?

 

Yeah I guess at the Toronto show they played a new song (Candy Hearts) and said they were putting out a Valentine EP.

 

My main complaint with Air for Free is that I don't find it consistent or cohesive even though I don't dislike any of the songs on it. I think Hoopes said it's kind of just a collection of songs and I don't really have an issue with that but I don't remember the last time I played it in full; I just kinda skip around on it. That said I like it and I think it has some of the best songs they've ever released.

 

The way the vinyl flows is much better. They really should have made the regular track list like the vinyl track list.

Based on their Twitter bio, looks like it's called the Truly Madly Deeply EP

 

EP is up on http://www.relientk.com and iTunes. How about the fact that we have gotten four different releases in the last year counting Look On Up.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Only questionable thing to me is the placement of "Runnin'" but I even like that.

 

If we got another album in the vein of "Candy Hearts" that would be unreal. Can we take a moment to appreciate how seamlessly this band has bounced back from a mediocre record and a frustrating period of inactivity? I mean, I didn't hold either of those things against them as it is, but this last year has made me more happy to be a Relient K fan than ever.

 

Yeah I agree. I actually have both tracklisting orders on my phone, haha. Even then, though, it's not exactly cohesive, it's kinda like 4 individual EPs, which is still pretty cool.

 

I wish/hope the EPs end up on Spotify.

 

Creepier is on there. For some reason it usually takes longer for stuff to get on Spotify.

Can someone clear this up for me, was Look on up supposed to be on Air for free but ended up being a standalone single?

 

It was recorded in the AFF sessions but was never intended to be released on the AFF album. Just a standalone single.

 

The last two holiday EPs have been 10x better than CL and about 2x as good as AFF

 

Hopefully they'll do a few more and then press them on 7"

 

I don't really like either of the EP's. They're enjoyable enough for one listen but they're not something I'd return to.
