I thought the first OML was the best so that should be right up my alley. I am a huge Punisher fan, actually finishing Garth's run with Valley Forge right now. I think Garth's run is like top 3 comics I've read, so that should give you a hint of where my taste lies, haha. I'll have to track down Remender's work, only one I haven't at least started.

I'm in pretty much exactly the same boat. Ennis Punisher is like as good as it gets for me.

Another series you would probably like is X-Force by Kyle/Yost that then became Uncanny X-Force by Remender.

Some other Wolverine stories maybe you'd dig:

    - Origin by Paul Jenkins and Andy Kubert (his origin, duh)
    - Logan by Brian K. Vaughan and Eduardo Risso (split between WWII Hiroshima and present day)
    - Savage Wolverine: Wrath by Richard Isanove (set during the Prohibition era)
    - Enemy of the State by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr (basically Wolverine, against his will, vs everyone)

If you're doing this via trades, the Wrath trade collects another story, too. Savage Wolverine was somewhat of an anthology series. If you're doing Marvel Unlimited, the actual Wrath story was in #14-17.

For X-Men material, I'm assuming you've read nothing? If so, check out Grant Morrison's New X-Men run, which is probably my favorite X-Men run. Chris Claremont's graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills would also probably be up your alley. While in the Claremont mode, going with a spinoff series, the Demon Bear arc of New Mutants (with art from the incredible Bill Sienkiewicz) is fantastic. Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday gets a lot of generally justified praise and is a pretty natural next read after Morrison's New X-Men.

Those 4 sounds great, I've had Logan in my wishlist for awhile, I'm going to pull the trigger. I've also been digging more into Millar so anything with him is getting me crazy excited.

Old Man Logan is the first X men related comic I've read. I remember a bit of discussion about Whedon's run earlier in the thread and that grabbed my interest as a giant Buffy fan. I love Grant Morrison to death so that should be perfect, I'm going to order vol 1 right now. I'm adding all these to my list, thanks a lot.

Speaking of Logan and recs, lol, I was just coming in here to get the ball rolling on that first batch of comic book recommendations. We are exactly one month away from that movie coming out, so might as well start that process now!

Here were the 5 comics I thought would make the most sense (though if someone has another relevant rec they're passionate about, I can tweak things):

    - Wolverine: Weapon X by Barry Windsor-Smith
    - Wolverine by Greg Rucka Ultimate Collection with Darick Robertson and Leandro Fernandez
    - X-23 Complete Collection Vol. 1 by various writers & artists
    - Old Man Logan Vol. 2: Bordertown by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino
    - All-New Wolverine Vol. 1: The Four Sisters by Tom Taylor and David Lopez

Who wants to write what blurb(s)?

I really want to do the All-New Wolverine one myself, but if someone wants to participate with this batch and is only down for that one, I can begrudgingly relinquish, lol. I personally could write all 5, but I want these to be a collaborative effort!

Quote this post telling me which option(s) (pick as many as you want) you want to write, and I'll sort out who should do what.

(If you're not much of a Wolverine fan, don't worry: We've got no shortage of future comic book films to participate with! ;-))

Have you read vol 2? I think vol 1 is one of the best books I've read but I think 2 is probably even better.

Picked up Vampirella #0. Gotta love issues that cost a quarter. Hoping to god that the covers are conducive of a redesign. I really like what they are going for on them. Probably not tho.

Is Omega Men a stand alone? I tried reading the first issue when it came out but had no idea what was going on. I also wasn't too familiar with the DC universe at that point either though.

It's its own story, a self contained story that uses like Kyle Rayner, but that's it.

Read the first 24 issues of Astonishing X-Men which I believe is all of Whedon's run. Is it worth continuing? Full run looks to be 68 issues on Marvel Unlimited.

I think Whedon's run wraps up in a Giant Size Astonishing X-Men Special one-shot or something? Did what you read include that?

I haven't read the rest of Astonishing, but I do own the last three trades, which cover the Marjorie Liu run, just 'cause it's an X-Men team with Karma from the New Mutants, who's one of my favorite characters and terribly underappreciated, lol.

I didn't. I'll go look for that now. In MU they seem to put annuals/one-shots outside of the run they go with.

I may slowly stick with it. The next run looks to be by Warren Ellis and I'm willing to give most of his work a shot.
