It used to be all the promises of new music but never delivering but now I would say my one big criticism would be the setlist in their live concerts, they really need to switch it up for their next tour.

I would've said the gnarly sexism on their pre-untitled stuff but they seemed to grow up lyrically so good on them. I guess just too many na-nas/whoa-ohs bother me now

How they don't take out "smaller", more current bands

The thing I don't like about the band is pretty much everything about them minus Dogs Eating Dogs since their return. Everything before that was sweet.

My biggest problem are the setlists (although I've been fortunate to see a lot of variation) and that other than on untitled, Mark and Tom were never able to hit the sweet spot of pushing forward their sound while still being blink

My only problems are the setlist(even then I'm good with like 85% of the setlist), and that the deluxe hasn't dropped yet. Everything else I am ok with.

Same site just posted another article about "Tom Delonge Regrets leaving blink" because he posted a still from Feeling This with "I've got no regrets right now" as the caption. So because he says he doesn't have regrets he has regrets?

  8. I listened to California lastnight twice in a row and loved every second of it. It's such a fun and catchy album.

I like Neighborhoods a lot, hated DED. Felt way too rushed and shit production.

  13. then i'll be stoked as hell because the majority of California proper is bangarang

Yeah I really think this album is going to age well. After Neighborhoods and DED, it's good to finally have a good fun and catchy blink album again.

When was the first time y'all heard blink? I was 7 years old and my sister bought the Can't Hardly Wait soundtrack.. I would constantly replay Dammit and jump back and forth from my bed to my brothers. A year later my sister showed me Enema of the State and from their on Out I wanted to know everything about them. I've never looked back

I just want more fun blink songs on the deluxe. Recent events have bummed me out, and I'm dying for more of what's on California. I used to listen to stuff that matched my mood, but upbeat blink is helping me a lot. Enjoy this album so much.

100% of Reddit will be "Feldmann ruined California, but they must not have let Feldmann write everything this time because this should've been the album they made last year"

I absolutely remember the first time I heard blink, I was 15 years old at a house party and my friend turned on the radio and What's My Age Again played, it hooked me immediately. The next day I went out and purchased Enema (the cover with the Nurse and the red cross but no PA sticker on it), which had been out for a week or so, then after listening to more of their older songs via Napster, I slowly saved enough money to buy the rest of their albums. It was really a great time to be a blink fan because MTV played their music videos all the time along with Making The Video specials etc. I think I still have an old VHS tape in my basement of blink playing on late night shows or giving TV interviews. Those were the days.

Blink really was the soundtrack of growing up for me. I had Enema in 9th grade, TMTTS for 10th grade, TOYPAJ, which I think is the ultimate high school album, for 11th, Boxcar for 12th and the Untitled album for sophomore year of college, Neighborhoods for me getting married and California for having my first kid.

I didn't get into blink til right after Enema came out. Don't think I heard them before my friend made me a cassette with 6 songs from Dude Ranch and 6 from Enema. I probably rewound the tape thirty times just to listen to Adam's Song over and over the first night haha.

Edit: actually my friend played Enema for me in the car and then I wanted more. So Dumpweed has to be the first I heard.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

I've told this story before in here, but I got into blink around the Untitled album. I was mainly into hip hop and a couple rock bands prior to this. I had to do a PowerPoint project for school my sophomore year of high school and I was chosen to do rock bands of 80,90,00s and had to do 10 bands. I did the cliche ones like AC/DC, Metallica, Nirvana, and threw in Linkin Park and NfG. My best friend was a MASSIVE blink fan and had talked about them to me so I said heck I'll add them. I was unmotivated so to motivate myself I listened to songs by each band while I made their slide. Blink came up and I had downloaded STFTK, I Miss You, and Feeling This. STFTK was first up and it won me over in a heart beat, starting my obsession with my favorite band and making me go out and buy their albums. I also branched into rock music from there with TBS, My Chem, Brand New and others that got recommended to me when buying the Blink albums. I quickly became a fanatic, even surpassing the friend who showed me blink. So not only did this school project show me the awesome of blink, it shoved me into music in a way I didnt think possible. Prior to that I didn't listen to much besides hip hop and older rock.

Before the internet was a thing, I saw the "Dammit" video before I knew it was "the Dammit video." I just knew it was a catchy song that said "I guess this is growing up."

    *Fast forward 2 years*

I heard "What's My Age Again?" and fell in love. I went out and bought Enema of the State the day it came out. I LOVED THE BEJESUS OUT OF IT! I loved it so much that I wanted to start checking out their back catalog.

I went to the store and bought Dude Ranch. On the cover of it, there was a sticker that said it featured "Josie" and "Dammit (Growing Up)" and I remember thinking, "Holy shit... Could it be that one song I heard a couple years ago?!" I hurried and put it in my mom's van's CD player, skipped to track 3, and BOOM! IT WAS THE SONG!!!!!!!

At that moment, I realized that it was fate and they became my favorite band ever, and they still are.

Not been around here in a long while, thought I'd drop by and say Hi again! Booked tickets to the UK tour with my mate the other night. Fucking stoked to see Frank Turner supporting!

Definitely in the mood to give California another spin now, haven't listened to it since it came out.
