Anyone know what the time frame on that Miss May I tour is?

That's just a few minutes from me. Glad to see that space is being used. I see Greely Estates there many years ago.

 

Between MMF and Blessthefall, I'm sure they could bring in at least 1,000 to 1500 especially with no other area shows. I'm sure they could've booked this at Starland but who knows. Yes I did mean AEG. Fucking acronyms haha

 

Amber Pacific has been fairly active on social media in the last year (for a band that hasn't toured consistently in several years), teasing new writing a couple of times. They supposed to tour at all this year?

 

Are you just guessing based on festival appearances or do you know something else? It seems strange for a band their size to announce something so many months in advance. Plus I think someone said they were supposed to announce it a week ago.

 

Of course it could be as simple as the fact that Starland already has a show announced that night. A GNR tribute, which if even sold much less, is going to bring in drastically more at the bar. But who knows when that was locked in, when the MMF tour was shopping around, what other holds Starland had on that date, etc etc etc. Also worth noting Senses Fail/Counterparts is playing there less than a week later, and booking too much of similar audiences too close is a regular concern of venues.

 

I have a few clues, but it's mostly guessing.

 

Of course. It could be anything. I will guarantee this tour will sell more than that GnR tribute but that's not saying much haha. Starland books a ton of tribute bands and the only one that does well is Badfish.

 

yeah, but GNR will be a bunch of 40/50 somethings getting hammered, the other tour will be a bunch of teens that can't drink. with a smaller guarantee i'm sure they may make more money

 

Oh absolutely but the problem is, they can't even give tickets away for these kind of shows. Going by what I've seen at a "Titans of Tribute" show, there were maybe 100 people there. Tickets were $10 with fees but I'm sure most got in for free. Your right about the smaller guarantee and the bar sales but I'd honestly take 1,000 non drinkers paying close to double in ticket sales than 100 drinkers who barely paid anything. I wish there was an entire breakdown of everything haha. I'm really interested in all these expenses that venues pay out. Also, I wonder how much of a cut Starland gets from the VFW parking lot across the street?

 

ticket sales mostly usually cover the advance, though. starland is 1000 cap, and tickets would be what, 25 bucks? So that's 25 grand right there, which seems about what the advance would be for a show like that. If the Titans of Tribute show is what, 1000 bucks, seems like the potential is similar

 

Iirc they were in the studio within the past 6months or so with Mike from MxPx

 

Any excitement I had for this band after Matt re-joined is gone.

They haven't done anything. The hype is gone. They put out one album. They did one show last year?

 

Yeah they played a hometown show in Seattle. That's why I'm curious if that will lead to more. I'd definitely hit up a tour since I never got to see them in their prime.

 

Has anyone ever won anything from IDOBI Radio before? They good? Won tickets for the ETID show tonight.

Deftones uploaded a video of them spinning a Rise Against vinyl. Could be a tease, could be nothing.

 

Poured Out just said they'll have a tour announcement tomorrow. Any ideas who they'll be touring with?
