Nikita Zaitsev is nearly guaranteed.

 

Oh shit I forgot about Zaitsev. Yeah we have a nice D pipeline.

We could also always end up with Chychrun if we fall outside the top 3 (though I'd rather Dubois at #4).

I'm so goddamn excited for the next few years.

 

After coming over from the shitshow that is Edmonton, Marincin has somehow managed to prove that he's a capable defencemen on the clusterfuck that is Toronto. He's not a solid piece, obviously, but he made a pretty nice dish to Nylander last night, and he's been relatively stable on the backend.

 

I realize this is a while back now, but explain the Habs. Sure, wins are a team statistic, but goalies play a huge part in that. Taking that away from Holtby seems ridiculous.

to get Wins your team has to score goals. look at Cory Schneider.

you could have a goalie with a 0.00 GAA theoretically that never wins.

Right, I'm just saying that it's ridiculous to discount Holtby's wins because wins are a team thing, and that his current 47 wins shouldn't be taken into consideration when voting for the Vezina. Based on prior history GM voting history, there’s a decent chance he’ll win it, and he's top 10 in SV% and GAA. Brodeur and Parent both won the Vezina in their 47-plus win seasons and perhaps the only reason Luongo didn’t win in his is because he won 47 in the same year Brodeur won 48 (2006/07).

 

50/50 right now it seems. He has been excellent these last 25 games or so. I hope he returns, but who knows.

 

Rangers will be without McDonagh, Girardi, Zuccarello, Stalberg, and Lundqvist tomorrow.

One of my buddies from undergrad passed away last night/this morning, and he and his family had hosted Joakim Nordstrom when he was younger and over in Chicago for some hockey tournaments/the like. Really cool to see him share this. RIP Steve.
