Fucking Tom with his throwback Blinkstagram posts...his argument of 'Never quit! Remember?' thinking he's in the right there is fucking moronic.

I got fired from a fast food job when I was 16 because I didn't give a shit about it, but 'never quit!'. Same scenario Delonge, you asshat.

What if there was a band of Tom and Lars Ulrich? Egosplosion?

Because they're basically a boy band and were essentially marketed as one at their prime. "Mark, Tom and Travis", they're a package deal to most their fans, much the same as when someone would leave a group like Busted, One Direction, N*Sync or whoever.

Tom has always said he'd be open to reuniting again but on HIS terms which is why it'll never happen. Like "if you guys do whatever I say and sit back doing nothing for 2 years while I put out a movie, 3 books and a 2 AVA albums then SURE I'll come back and play 6 shows with you and record an EP in my house!" Tom and Mark have pretty much hated each other for longer than they were ever friends at this point.

Yeah, I mean, regardless how you feel about the latest record, it at least showed Mark and Travis' direction and plan of action. Immediately got a producer, recorded a boat load of songs, then jumped on a massive tour. All of those things Tom seemed to be holding them back from. I can't even really imagine what his direction for the band was supposed to be.

yea - there's definitely a lot more activity without Tom. But - I much prefer the output with Tom than with Matt

Blink put out (in my a opinion) a mediocre record and the tour (while fun) still lacks the energy/excitement without Tom on board for me

    Forever  Tom

  7. I'd agree with that if it was still 1999-2003 era. But most of these people are newer/young fans, and I don't think they're marketed the same way they used to be. I think it probably just comes down to Tom was their favorite member or something.

I can definitely understand why some people still prefer the core line up. To me, Neighborhoods was good but not great. Too many ideas sounded recycled from Tom (as they have for the longest time now) while Mark's were pretty flat on the delivery... A lot of this was an indirect result of Tom's insistence that they don't use a producer.

The tour I saw them on in 2009 was damn fun, but he was hammered and sounded like garbage. So yeah, there's a couple of different ways of looking at it lol

I remember Mark an interview in 2006ish and was asked if he can talk to Tom what would he say and Mark's response was "Dude what's up with your hair?".

But yeah that hairdo was just, I don't know what it was.

I honestly don't care about that discussion. Tom's heart wasn't in the band. Instead of being honest, about it he constantly lied to his bandmates/"friends" and to his fans. Fuck him. Harsh maybe, but I don't have any respect for him anymore.

I think he talked about how he went to Mark and Travis and pitched the Poet stuff to them, making books and movies with the band making soundtracks to them. Basically what he ended up doing with AVA putting out EPs to go along with his novels. I'd have to guess those were Tom's plans for the band moving forward but using the band's name to help promote and sell them.

Yeah I've said it a few times that Tom should have just been honest with everyone (the band, fans, himself) and just said he wanted to do other things and was stepping away from the band for awhile to do them. He gives Mark and Travis their blessing to continue on as blink, wishes them well and who knows what the future holds.

Something like that is simple and I don't think anyone would fault him for doing that.

Least favorite blink songs per album:

    Buddha: My Pet Sally
Cheshire Cat: tie between Ben Wah Balls, Depends and Just About Done
    Dude Ranch: Boring
    Enema: Alien's Exist
TOYPAJ: tie between Mother's Day, Dog, Grandpa. If you don't include bonus tracks it would be Give Me One Good Reason
Untitled: Asthenia (I don't think it would be fair to include the Fallen Interlude but that would be the pick)
    Neighborhoods: Fighting the Gravity
    DED: Pretty Little Girl
    California: California

  18. I'll bite.

    Buddha: Time
    Cheshire Cat: Just About Done
    Dude Ranch: Boring
Enema of the State: The Party Song
Take Off Your Pants and Jacket: Give Me One Good Reason
    Untitled: The Fallen Interlude
    Neighborhoods: Love Is Dangerous
Dogs Eating Dogs: Pretty Little Girl
    California: California

The staggered delivery of the hook in "No Future" really grates on me, then the "na na"s just being the exact same melody repeated, it's just a bad song. I like the verses and bridge but the chorus actively makes me not want to listen to the song at all.

Yeah, I really wish the chorus to No Future was better because Skiba's verse and bridge might be my favorite thing about California, he absolutely owns his parts in the song. I just think the chorus is awkward with the very very short pauses between words.
