My thing is, Maher is racist and stupid. Like, stupid in the racist liberal way where you can invoke having black friends who agree with you and people will still love him because he justifies their shitty beliefs.

True, but most of hte time I'm not there for his views and more there for the panel discussion. The fact that he calls out the Republican panelists for their nonsense a lot is just a little extra juice for entertainment heh

 

Yes, I watch for the panel talk, not the monologues. A lot of interesting guests have been on there who I've never seen anywhere else.

They really have had some great panels and interview guests...there's been a bunch of duds too of course but overall there's probably more interesting stuff there than not.

It happens, it does matter, but for the purposes of America/Trump being obsessed with it, there's definitely a correlation between the perceived race of those murdered.

From what I've seen and read he's doing pretty well for himself considering he's jumping from high school to the pros. He's mostly out there to space the floor for his team, but has seen increase minutes even though his shooting has fallen off. Nothing in his mechanics suggests that it's a permanent slump. Looks like he could be a great 3 and D guy at worst.

I know this, and I agree. But his original tweet that didn't say white, which he didn't delete, is the dismissal I mean specifically. Not only that, but hypocrisy. I wrote all the essays I wanted, so I don't want to again. I just don't appreciate the whataboutism with such generalized language. I just hope you understand where I'm coming from and why. I just want to make everyone aware of these things, and that we can discuss them in depth, without dismissing racism towards MENA people in general, or anti-Muslim or Islamophobic sentiment, in the West. It doesn't have to be pitting religions against each other, and I'm seeing that just as much from the Western Left as I am the Right - moreso really the past few days. It's just a shame a lot of innocent and otherwise persecuted people have been caught in the crossfire and have felt even more defensive as a response. And a lot of people are not helping. I hope people can try to at least understand what I mean, and why I put a guard up sometimes when this happens. As you've noticed, I've been heavily critical of Conservatives, religious right, etc and I do not follow them or put them on lists lol. The most I've seen from them is here in this thread haha.
