Played a couple more and won. Were pretty close, actually. Got that first arcade loot box.

edit: yyyyup then i lost another three in a row.

edit: got lucky and did "stay as a team" for five wins in a row on Capture the Flag. I got Greifhardt! Not an event skin, but still legendary. My boxes were crap after that, though.

Got all my Arcade loot boxes. That's enough of that for this week.

Since I already got a Mei skin, the only other thing I really want from this event is Mercy's, and I already have 400 currency, so only need 350 more. D.Va's and Symmetra's would be nice, too, but I doubt I'll have that much currency to spend.

 

Bought some loot boxes and played the event for more. Got DVA, 1 of Mei's, Winston, Reinhardt, and Roadhog skins. Have like 7k in gold I'm going to hold onto and spend on whatever I don't have by end of the event.

Yeah, experienced the DVA glitch in 3v3, very annoying because my team lost because of it. sigh.

 

It's really funny to me that the internet is reacting the way they are to skinny Mei. I saw it when I opened the game, before seeing the internet reaction, scratched my head for a minute, went 'huh' and carried on. Not sure that it is as big a deal as people make it out to be. Really love the red design.

 

I don't think anyone ever mentioned it but it's super nice how they made it for you can play four voice line/sprays instead of just one.

also capture the flag was super easy if you just go genji/sombra/Winston/bastion.

 

I found DVA was the best for me. Won a game in overtime thanks to that.

 

Capture the flag is tough when playing with randoms because you don't know if they are going to attack or defend

I got a couple potgs with Sombra earlier on capture the flag. Never really gave her much time before but man was she fun

Oh, and someone says "Why do we have to bring politics into everything?" Probably the same kind of person who whines about Borderlands 2 for having any sort of social commentary.

2 boxes in and my brother already got the Sun Wukong skin.

I'm so bitter.

 

I feel that. Opened my sixth box earlier, and still haven't gotten a skin yet. It's mainly been sprays and icons like always.

I got the Roadhog and Mei skin on my first loot box, and have the second Mei skin as well. Need Dva thoughhhh

 

I feel like for the first time I want every single thing that was released in this event. They're all so cool

Also the Mercy highlight intro reminds me of Yuna in FFX

 

Faced a Sombra in capture the flag that would go invisible, quickly capture the flag, and then teleport back to her base. It was so frustrating

 

Trying to get into Sombra. She's really fun but hard to fully utilize unless everyone is cooperating

 

Huntress Widow and Okami Hanzo in the same box. I suck at sniping and I'm still hoping to get Mercy's event skin, but I'll take it.

 

updated to include event info. I sat out the entire Summer Games, and I played through all of Winter Wonderland to get only one skin. I only have so many Halloween Terror and Year of the Rooster skins because I purchased 24 boxes for each.

Caved and unlocked Golden Mercy with currency, and this was after spending $20. Playing disappointing games just to level up just to open disappointing boxes was getting stressful again, and the only reason I bought those boxes was to cheer myself up from other shit going on in my life. My mental health doesn't need more stress right now. I got all I wanted from this event, so I guess it's time to chill and try to actually enjoy playing.

Captured the only rooster at the end of the game last minute. Felt so good.

 

Played an hour and none of the matches felt good, even the wins. Maybe it's just my dumb luck that the teams almost never feel balanced. I don't know. Maybe some time away again will be good. I mean, I'm pretty sure I have all the skins I want from the event, so.

 

Back on PC after a solid month on console and it's definitely good to be back. Playerbase seems more balanced and my games just end up being more fun, even if I'm on the losing side.

Have gained almost 10 levels in 3 days because I just can't stop playing and I have some really great and helpful friends who have been willing to play pretty much non-stop. Making it a point to actually play with people and group up has drastically improved my experience with this game and I'm downright addicted as of now.

So far I've lucked out and gotten the Junkrat and Tracer skins, but I REALLY REALLY want D.Va. Probably gonna grab with currency if I don't get it before the end of the event.
