THE WAIT IS PAINFUL!!!

 

No stream today.. :(. Oh well I get to hear another record today I'm anticipating so I guess it will hold me over. Also super busy today so wouldn't get to properly enjoy the record, I'm hoping for a stream Wednesday so I can crack a beer and enjoy it Wednesday night

 

Just finding it odd that they haven't mentioned anything about Thick As Thieves on social media, haha.

Edit: Nvm just clocked they posted about it on Twitter.

 

Hot take... Thick as Thieves is a Top 5(ish) Tom song. They better stream this album soon or I'm going to wear that song out as much as I have the other three.

 

Imo, Thick as Thieves is one of Tom's best. I prefer The Bars and Boy Blue. He had songs on Rented World that I didn't get, but his batch on this album is the best group of songs he's had in awhile.

 

Gonna hold off on Thick As Thieves.

I've only listened to After The Party once, Bad Catholics like 5 times and Lookers like 10 times. I'm very proud of myself for staying strong and not wearing these songs out. I can't wait to hear them all again though. This is one of the most painful waits I've ever had for an album

I've never liked his solo stuff as much as I like the Loved Ones, but this will be a good distraction from thinking about menzos 24/7

 

Yeah I haven't gotten a chance to listen yet but I will hopefully today. Might just wait on it anyway I'm not a fan of YouTube streams

 

So if After the Party wins AOTY which looks like might be a realistic possibility haha, then that will be two AOTYs under their belt. Has any other band done that before? Wouldn't shock me if Brand New did it, but I was just thinking about that.

Yeah that's what I mean. The staff lists. On The Impossible Past got it back in 2011, I believe. Obviously it was AbsolutePunk at the time.

Slightly OT: "In remisson" is not their most emotionally impactful song, BUT to me it is one of the most energetic, fun, mosh-worthy songs I've ever heard in my life.

That's a fair point. I kind of like it because I have listened to bands in the past because of their place on that list. That's how I found out about The Hotelier when they got it a year or two ago.

 

I missed the memo on the Kung Fu Necktie show on Friday. If anyone knows someone with extras, I'm willing to do questionable things for one. Or some money, whichever is more agreeable.
